Use the Merfolk Looters to draw a card, then to discard a card(usually a Reanimate Creature). Use the Merfolk Looter's ability at end of turn, so when your draw and main phase come around, you can Reanimate, or Exume. Or, using Buried Alive, or Entomb to fetch a creature works well also. Foil works amazingly, discarding an Island and a card to counter target spell(usually a reanimate creature). Living death works great against those annoying Elf decks. Side-in Dry Spells to kill off most of the week Elfs(Wellwisher, Priests, etc...) Just Buried Alive for Reya, Akroma, and either Avatar of Woe, or Nishoba, then Living Death, all elfs go bye-bye, and here comes the power creatures. A good combo is with Reya, Symbiotic Worm, and Avatar of Woe. At end of turn, kill the Worm with the Avatar to get seven 1/1's. Then, during your upkeep, you get the worm back.
