Subject: Endless Future - Mark Mixson - Type 2 Deck I've been testing an infinite mana Future Sight deck extensively, and I've found it to be not just very powerful, but extremely resistant and reliable against other type 2 decks, particularly wake and glide. As long as Future Sight is on the table for 1 turn, you basically win. Some previous versions I've used had cards of varying effectiveness, so here's the decklist I'm currently working with: 4 Future Sight 4 Early Harvest 4 Reclaim 4 Hapless Researcher 4 Krosan Wayfarer 4 Predict 4 Mental Note 4 Deep Analysis 3 Fog 2 Far Wanderings 1 Dwell on the Past 1 Blaze 1 Mountain 11 Island 9 Forest The object of the deck is to cast a Future Sight. When you untap the turn after casting the Future Sight, use the Harvests to gain enough mana to drain your entire library into your graveyard. Make sure you have at least 1 Reclaim in your hand while doing this and/or Dwell on the Past. Reclaim + Future Sight = instant Regrowth for G. When all your cards are gone, return/cast Dwell on the Past, placing 4 Reclaims in your library. Simply cast as many Early Harvests as you want (saving the last Reclaim to get the Dwell on the Past to start again). Once you have a billion mana, return the single Blaze and Mountain to your hand, play Mountain, play Blaze for 1000000000 if necessary. If you're worried about Deflection/Aegis of Honor, deck them with Predict (takes longer, but safer). Also remember that you can cast 1000000000 Blazes for 1000000000 damage each if you feel like it (: I'm sure there's lots of ways to change this deck, but this build has been the most successful thus far. This deck needs card advantage more than card filtering, making the Deep Analysis a better choice over Careful Study in the mid and late games. The filtering power of the Far Wanderings is just too powerful to ignore, although you'll only want to cast them when thresholded (usually happens around turn 2-3). I'm sure sac lands have their place in this deck, but aggressive decks can very quickly diminish your life total, so I recommend not using them. I haven't really thought too much about a sideboard -- maybe Mana Shorts and/or counters -- perhaps a Crush of Wurms surprise for the second game. * * * Fortune Favors Irony Mark Mixson - meabolex@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
