A big hello to all of The Pojo's readers out there! First things first, today is my birthday, and to celebrate the one day of the year that I can sit down and ask for complete silence, and actually get it, I am writing an article for submission. Second, I must apologize; I have a deck with no tournament report to back it up. Third, I must say that I think Magic should not focus on tournaments alone. Online, at least most of the time, true Magic is ignored.

I mean casual play.

No one would be playing Magic if they did not begin with casual play. There's nothing better than gathering all your friends, playing a huge group game, and seeing if you can destroy them all with your latest deck. In casual play we have no banned or restricted lists, we have no time limits, we have no particular set(s) that we can use when building our decks, there is no restriction to our fun.

My small group of friends and I usually have games with 4-8 people playing at once. We randomly team up on each other or go rogue to see how well we can do. Recently I wanted to see how well I could do going solo. I drew every artifact I owned and even bought copies of cards on E-Bay. I made a deck I like to call:

Perpetual Grind w/no Stone

Artifacts-26
4 Lotus Petal
3 Mana Vault
4 Voltaic Key
3 Altar of Dementia
1 Jeweled Torque
4 Thran Dynamo
4 Lifeline
2 Belbe's Portal
1 Aladdin's Ring

Creatures-14
2 Jhoira's Toolbox
3 Brass Herald
1 Phyrexian Hulk
4 Phyrexian Colossus
4 Colossus of Sardia

Land-20
4 Urzas Mine
4 Urzas Tower
4 Urzas Power Plant
4 Stalking Stones
4 Crystal Vein

The point of this deck is to get big creatures quickly and, if needed, sac them to Altar of Dementia for library destruction. The Belbe's Portal is really helpful, and Aladdin's Ring is in there just because I can put it in and actually use it, heheh! Sideboarding is not necessary in casual play, your deck works, you form an alliance, or you die. I brought my brand new deck and prepared for battle.

First turn, I'm going first. My hand is an Urzas Mine, three Mana Vaults, a Voltaic Key, Belbe's Portal, and a Colossus of Sardia. I felt bad; it almost seemed like I had somehow cheated. I play mine, Vault, tap vault for 2 Vaults and a key, tap for 6 mana for Portal and to untap a vault with the key, then tap vault again to bring Colossus into play with postal. From there, all 5 went against me, and I won. The next day, suspecting the reaction, I brought a blue deck and 5 decks full of shatters became useless.

Magic Cards for deck: $30
Sleeves for cards: $10
Irritating your friends: Priceless

Well, It's getting long and I salute you if you've gotten this far. Thanks for taking the time to read my article. I sincerely hope I can write many more for the Pojo. If you have any questions, comments, or just want to chat, my email is NagaBasmu@aol.com
