BMoor's Magic The Gathering Deck Garage
Lucho from Peru
November 14, 2006

Hi my name is Lucho, Im writing from Peru, a small country on the back of beyond, south america. (maybe you heard of macchu picchu, anyways, google for it). Back in the day when we started playing Magic I used to play a really nice Sliver deck using the queen and the flying one and the instant one... anyways, with the coming of slivers back to standard Ive grabbed as many as Ive found as singles (although Im still running a few proxies) and tried to put together a nice deck. It works well, but Im sure there is room for a few tweaks, since sometimes I just dont get a way to break through.

Lucho´s Mucho Sliver:

Lands: 22

4x Terramorphic Expanse
4x Mountain
4x Plains
4x Forest
2x Skarr, Rage Pits
2x Stompy Grounds
2x Temple Garden

Creatures: 24

4x Gemhide Sliver
4x Might Sliver
3x Pulmonic Sliver
3x Harmonic Sliver
4x Watcher Sliver
2x Bonesplitter Sliver
2x Fury Sliver
2x Essence Sliver

Spells: 14
Pollenbright Wings x2
Hivestone x2
Debtor´s Knell x3
Savage Twister x3
Farseek x4

I dont have a sidedeck because Im too genial to use one. Real men dont change cards between matches. Anyways, got to go, its time to duel!.
Sliver decks are always fun, and usually pretty easy to make.  Let's see how this one fares.
First of all, lose Hivestone.  Hivestone makes all your creatures Slivers.  All your creatures are ALREADY Slivers.  Therefore, Hivestone does NOTHING.  Sure, you can make Saprolngs, but even so that's two slots that can be used better.
Second, your Sliver choices.  You only have 2 Bonesplitter, and Boney's effect compounds the more of it you have, so go for four of Bonesplitter.  Two each of Harmonic and Pulmonic shall be enough.  You'll want a few Sidewinder and a few Quilled on top of that, those abilities are very useful and the creatures themselves ar economical.  Also, add two of Firewake Sliver.  Haste can be useful, especially with Gemhide and Quilled.  The other power it grants makes combat math hard on your opponent, as you can sacrifice a doomed creature to overpower a blocker or push more damage through.  Plus, your Debtors' Knell ensures that your creatures' noble deaths shall not be for naught.  They shall return and smash face another turn!

Speaking of your noncreature spells, you've made good choices.  Savage Twister and Debtors' Knell go well together, as you well know.  Farseek makes good mana searching, but do you need it after Gemhide and Terramorph Expanse?  And finally, l know you're onto something with Pollenbright Wings and the Hivestone, but the Aura costs 4GW-- too much to go on a creature that may already have flying.  lf you really want to use that combo, okay, but l'm skeptical.  LightnIng Helix would be my preference-- more raw power, you don't have to attack to see a benefit, less mana, and less chance your opponent will respond by offing the creature you targeted, thus countering the spell.  There exists potential for your combo, but you mentioned you have trouble breaking through.  The Helix helps break through.  The Wings require you to before you get any benefit from them.  Try the Helix and see for yourself.
Good luck!
