Shaper's Sanctuary

This is one of Ixalan's cards that I'm most eager to try out. The effect is very reminiscent of Multani's Presence from Urza's Legacy, and now that there are people out there who use removal spells much like Buehler Blue used counterspells in 1998, this is a highly effective countermeasure that warps their game plan (and, in multiplayer formats, may drive them to a different opponent altogether). It's well worth remembering that it scales up in multiples, if you're playing a four-of format, and that it triggers from your opponents' abilities and not just spells. Nekrataal, Throat Slitter, and Vulshok Sorcerer are no longer all-upside for their caster, and that could have repercussions far beyond Ixalan.

Shaper's Sanctuary (9/20)

A way for green decks to recoup against a swath of targeted spells and abilities, it's a cheap enchantment that sits around and potentially gets you a ton of cards. One green mana does make this better than a lot of the "sit around" enchantments, so I'm more bullish on it than normal. It may not protect your creatures, but it makes sure you benefit when they inevitably get blown up.
