Uncage the Menagerie

If you remember the OmniChord deck from around 2007 or so, you might be tempted to remake its pattern of play for Standard after seeing this card. The way it's worded is a little more involved than Chord of Calling, and it doesn't have quite the same instant impact since it puts them into your hand and not into play; but it's worth noting that the more mana you invest in it, the more creatures you can get for just one card. I'm not sure what situation would come up where you'd need six creatures that cost six mana, but you could do that if you wanted to.

James H. Uncage the Menagerie is a powerful effect waiting for a home. I’m not sure if it will find it.

So, it’s a tutor effect, but with wrinkles. You choose a converted mana cost and search for that many creatures of that cost. One 1-drop, two 2-drops, and so on. The challenge is structuring one's deck to where you want to potentially, say, dig out three 3-drops on your turn 5, wait, and then start putting them out. It’s a cool approach, but it’s slow and clunky, and needing to find unique creatures tempers enthusiasm for the card somewhat.

It’s a unique effect that has a lot of potential power, but I doubt it will get there, due to its slowness and how awkwardly it plays.
