Elemental Bond

Speaking of things that it's about time there was more of, I've been hoping for serious green card-drawing since Planar Chaos teased us with it. I have no problem with it being tied to creatures, like this card - green decks play creatures anyway. They always have and they always will. The power required on the creature is low enough that a wide range of decks will be able to use it advantageously, more easily than something like Triumph of Ferocity, and the fact that it triggers when the creature comes into play leads to more flow in cards and gives creature decks a better long game.

Michael "Maikeruu" Pierno Today's card of the day is Elemental Bond which is a three mana Green enchantment that has you draw a card whenever a creature with three or more power enters play under your control.  This has the same effect as Garruk's Packleader at a lower cost and being far less vulnerable to removal, though less efficient in the sense of not being able to attack or block.  The lower cost and potential value to an enchantress design gives this some situational value an it is likely to see at least some play as card acceleration for Green in Casual formats if nothing else.

In Limited this depends somewhat on the pool as it is far less valuable in a low mana curve aggro build with few three power creatures available.  It is very unlikely to have no creatures that can trigger the effect, but the higher the mana curve the more likely this is to be an actual advantage of drawing more than one card and of being playable early without costing a creature play.  A reasonable second or third pick in Booster and worth including in Sealed when running a Green deck with some larger creatures.

One of those cards that you read, get really excited, then re-read and have your hopes dashed. I did this, looking for even more draw power in my "Go elf yourself" EDH. That said, it's stackable draw power for limited and casual, which is cool. Don't expect to see this anywhere competitive though.
