Exquisite Firecraft

Is this a card whose art depicts the creation of art? Granted it's lethal fiery art, but that's surely some kind of milestone. This looks at first glance like Yet Another Lightning Bolt Variant, but its cost-to-damage ratio puts it in the all-star company of Char and Pulse of the Forge, and the spell mastery condition is easy to activate in a frightening range of decks - Kiln Fiend burn and mono-red Lightning Bolt Variants.dec scarcely need the help, but can you imagine this thing as a finisher in a counter-burn strategy or a Boros deck with Raise the Alarm and Path to Exile?

Today's card of the day is Exquisite Firecraft which is a three mana Red spell that deals four damage and with Spell Mastery can't be countered.
This is a decent burn spell for Red with an easily activated if situational bonus.  The four damage for three mana isn't the best, but it is certainly playable and can destroy creatures that can withstand the more frequently used three damage options.

In Limited this a first pick removal in Booster even with the double Red as it can answer most threats in the set or speed up the clock on the opponent as needed.  For Sealed it adds noticeable value to Red being the primary deck color and is almost always a card that is useful in hand or as a topdeck.

Yuck. I'd prefer lightning bolt being a rare over this. Hell, make lightning bolt a sorcery speed Mythic. Make no mistake, this card's a stinker, and a waste of a rare slot. It's not even great in limited unless you're Red-heavy. I gotta go wash my eyes now. While the scores can't go below 1 in these reviews, the scores are much lower in my head.
