Death Baron

This guy rather reminds me of the Ravenloft setting from the old Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, or the Castlevania video games. As such, it makes me a little sad to say that he probably won't be seen much in competitive constructed - Zombies are not really a supported tribe in this year's Standard, and lack the tricks to make it in competitive Extended. Still, he is sure to be loads of fun to play with. There's nothing better than seeing an Archon of Justice that doesn't want to block a humble Drudge Skeleton.

Happy Halloween!
(Anyone who makes a deck that includes both this guy and All Hallows' Eve gets a million points!)

Death Baron

Happy Halloween. What a great card to review on this day. Skeletons and Zombies unite. There is not better pain in the @#$ ability to grant all creatures then deathtouch. My friend already has a great multiplayer Zombie deck and this just pushed it over the edge. Fantastic Name, Fantastic Art, Fantastic Abilities. Wizards got it right with this guy.

Death Baron

Constructed: There has not been a Black beat down sense Undead Warchief came along and made them cheaper and bigger. With almost all of the Unearth critters black and Zombies, someone could make a Black beat down deck.

Casual: Well it looks like another Lord or Master or whatever added to the pool of tribal wars.

Limited: With about 8 Zombies and 1 Skeleton, the Baron is not that great. But giving them Deathtouch makes them all killers. So when they decide to chump block they will take down the big fatty too.

Overall a okay new lord for Zombies and Skeletons. Like Zombies needs another lord.

Skeleton creatures you control and other Zombie creatures you control get +1/+1 and have deathtouch.

Seems the undead get yet another lord. This one isn't bad. The usual pump plus the interesting deathtouch. Throw in some changlings for a fun casual deck. In limited and constructed this is just meh. In limited I guess if you can fnid some relevant creatures to go wth it it could be good but don't count on it. In constructed it no where effcient enough.
