Swans of Bryn Argoll

A 4/3 flyer for 4 is pretty efficient, but it also gives your opponent an opportunity to just ping away at it and draw their way into an answer-- preferably a Pacifism or the like that neutralizes your ability to swing for 4 but still lets them turn their Tim into an improved Looter.  Or you could pay it alongside your own pingers as a draw engine yourself-- it does say "that source's controller".

Constructed- 3.5

Casual- 4.5

Limited- 3.75

Don't misread this card and think you always get to draw the cards, regardless of who damages the Swans - I did. They're still good, though. Apart from the combo applications with Seismic Assault and Pyrohemia, they're surprisingly hard to kill in normal circumstances. Just be careful if people start playing with -1/-1 counters to foil creatures with persist. An all-round decent card with a surprising number of applications.

Constructed: Players are looking to combo of this little birdy like crazy. Blue and White always gets a great flyer for 4 mana. Here is a idea, it's expensive. Get two Swans into play. Play Ego Erasure targeting you, then play Rival's Duel. Great you just drawn 4 cards for 7 mana. Good job.

Casual: It will be a fun card for the casual players out there. Birds of a feather must flock together...

Limited: A 4/3 flyer is a awesome card to draft or have in your sealed deck. But Shadowmoor has alot of wither and -1/-1 counters running around. Show it can be dealt with if your are running black or red. You will probably win before you use it's ability to draw cards. I would not want to chump block it with a 1/1 flyer.

Great card for any format. The hybrid makes it more playable with red and blue burn decks.
