Stillmoon Cavalier

Hey, it's Stromgarde Crusader and Order of the Ebon Hand all in one!  For one more mana, that is.  Is it worth it?  Well, it has protection from two colors in an environment where any color could be lurking in your opponent's deck.  It can gain first strike AND flying, and pump its power as well.  Granted that all takes a lot of mana, but in a weenie deck, you probably ran out of uses for your mana by turn six anyway.  Even if all you ever do is give it flying and swing for 2, or block your opponent's Needle Specter, this is totally worth it.

Friday - Stillmoon Cavalier

This thing is neat. They took some abilities from favorite knights in the past and melded them all into one card. This thing is great in white weenie, because it's not that expensive, it has protection from two colors in a very multicolored format, it can fly, first strike, and even has fire breathing (or, I suppose whatever it would be on a white and black card). If nothing else, this is an excellent mana sink for the late game should the game go that long. Right now, I don't see WW being viable in Standard, but this *may* see play in the block Kithkin deck; the only thing holding it back is it's not a Kithkin.

In limited, yet another powerful card, like all the cards this week. If you're in the colors, you play this.

Someone told me there was a rumor about this card before it was released, and I didn't believe it. It seemed to have way too many abilities for its cost, and I still think it does. You can't argue with its effectiveness, though, and it can single-handedly shut down entire decks in constructed, casual, and limited alike. Very few cards can avoid so much removal and still put the opponent on such a short clock - the Cavalier is Stromgald Crusader and Order of the White Shield combined and so much more.

And it's also the headless horseman from the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. How cool is that?

Constructed: Oh my! It's the headless horseman! Anyways. It is something that Black and White needed as a good creature with neat abilities. He is pro his own colors which protects him from Unmake and Shriekmaw. Red can still take care of him easy. Make him fly for damage to your opponent or first strike to kill other critters that get in the way.

Casual: This card will fit into any Zombie deck. Zombie decks are always popular. BRAINNNNNNS!!!

Limited: Very few cards can deal with him in draft or sealed so he is a winner. Even if he has no head.

Overall a good creature, that can hold its own. I almost forgot he plays well with Haakon, Stromgald Scourge.

Constructed: 4

Casual: 3

Limited: 4

Have a great weekend.
