Chill to the Bone

This is a powerful card in any format it's legal in. Most problematic creatures in Standard are not snow. The snow strategy will comprise one or maybe two decks in a draft, and even those decks have Rimewind wizards that this can target. Snow decks just haven't caught on in Constructed yet, so this will destroy almost anything. And in Limited, you pick this card. And you play it. If you can't see why, then you don't win at Limited. Creature removal wins games in Limited. And this is darn good creature removal.

Constructed- 3.5
Casual- 3.5
Limited- 4.5

Chill to the Bone - Every set needs to have it's very simple removal spells. Chill to the Bone is very simple. It kills a lot of creatures while being completely ineffective against the rest. In this way it is very similar to Rend Spirit/Rend Flesh from Kamigawa. It certainly serves an important role for black in Coldsnap limited, however. Black decks often make use of a strong core of snowy creatures like Gutless Ghoul and Zombie Musher, and so are often hurting for an answer to the big threat of the format - Ronom Hulk. Chill to the Bone is one of the most effective and simple ways of removing the Hulk. Any black deck that doesn't get at least one of these stands a good chance of being run over by the Incredible Hulk.

Constructed Rating - 1.7
Casual Rating - 2.0
Limited Rating - 2.9

Chill to the Bone

Welcome to the most sideboarded card in Coldsnap draft!

In constructed, there are a lot of good kill spells running around. This is not one of them. You can get this utility much more cheaply in Dark Banishing. This can kill black creatures, however. If black becomes dominant (ha-ha), then you might board this in for mirror matches.
In casual, there’s pernicious deed and a million better kill spells.
In limited, this card wins games. It kills that nasty Ronom hulk, that miserable Ursine Fylgja, and a host of other irritants. I pick this third or fourth.

Constructed: 1.5/5
Casual: 1/5
Limited: 3/5
