Rimefeather Owl

For 5UU, this better win you the game. Good news; it will win you the game. The "*/*" usually implies an abusability, and the ability to ice over all your permanents to make itself an enormous flier means that this will usually come into play as a 2/2, 3/3, or 4/4 in Limited or an 8/8 or maybe 9/9 in constructed. Next turn, it grows to a 6/6 or 7/7 in Limited or a 10/10 in Constructed. Keep in mind that this thing FLIES. It will end the game in your favor with 2 or 3 swings.

Rimefeather Owl

HOT in constructed. You'll see this snowy flyer show up at many high end constructed events since Coldsnap hit. Pretty crazy in limited, too. Definitely play Rimefeather if you have the chance.

Rimefeather Owl

I have to admit I was a bit surprised to hear that the Owl was actually seeing some serious constructed play. Yes, it has the potential to be a very, very large flyer. But it also has the potential to get killed by any old Dark Banishing your opponent happens to have in their hand. It is, in many ways, like Cognivore from Odyssey. Big, blue, flying and fragile. Cognivore saw play but only as a part of an Oath of Druids deck. The Owl is a very different beast. The initial push for snowy decks in standard may have been strong at first, but I think eventually this will prove to be just another junk rare, reminding us that snow used to matter.
