Ivory Mask
This week, we're
looking at some more 8th Edition cards. Today,
we start out with one of my favorites from
Mercadian Masques, Ivory Mask.
The untargetability
that Ivory Mask gives you is an ability I feel
that is very basic, yet very useful for white to
have. The fact that it is an enchantment, rather
than a creature (True Believer) or one turn
effect (Gilded Light) makes it really hard for
the two colors you want to use it against, red
and black, to remove. All in all, a very strong
sideboard card, and a card that will see some
play in many games 2 and 3 for the next 2 years.
In limited, this is
not so useful, as the number of effects you
typically have that target a player are few, and
there are even less of them in the base set.
