This Week's Card Selector

Dream Thrush is a fun card, but has lost some of its weight in Constructed (if it ever had any in the first place).  Unfortunately, this fun card didn't get much play in constructed.  When it did, it was fun.  It could mess up multi colored decks on the spot.  Unfortunately, he is limited once put up against decks that were 3- colors.  In Type II, kind of bland, in IBC, he was a fun card at best.  I give it a 1.75, because it had uses in a few decks, but was largely a card that didn't have a place.

In limited, this guy was great.  He hosed peoples splash colors like no other card, and at the very least, he flew.  He wasn't your first pick, but he was a solid pick for any deck that could afford to play blue.  I give him a 3.5 in limited.

In limited, the card is small evasion with an ability to smooth your mana or screw your opponents.  Not a first pick, but could often make the cut in blue.

In constructed, you better just like birds if you're playing with this

Constructed - 1
Limited - 2.5

This card was a decent choice back in IBC limited because lots of decks played with 3 or more colors and sometimes needed it's ability to get a single mana of a certain color. I also recall it being used for some tricks with Shifting Sky (?). I don't see it getting much play in T2 anymore.

It's a 1/1 flier for 2. That's about all this card is worth. The land changing ability might be nice for swampwalk or some such, but it is really nothing to me.

In limited, it has flying. You take creatures with evasion any way you can get them. It also helped with most of the multicolored spells of the day.

An absolute gem for Invasion sealed or draft.  Dream Thrush at a very appropriate cost gives you a mana fixer so you can abuse all those golden bombs Invasion touts.  You can also use that land changing ability to to "screw" your opponent by turning one of his lands into a land he doesn't need... especially evil when that land was the only source of mana he/she had of a given color.  Dream Thrush also makes your swampwalker useful even if the opponent isn't playing swamps!!  At the very least you get a 1/1 flier for 1U... which in limited is actually not that bad.

In constructed nobody played with Dream Thrush in IBC, I doubt anyone will find a reason to play with him in T2 either.

Dream Thrush poses many problems. A 1/1 flyer for 2 mana is common now, so that isn't a big deal.

However, Thrush's special ability isn't as important as comparable creatures'. Changing the type of basic land isn't a much useful effect, and really should only be used as a mana-smoother/evasion creature in a limited environment.

Dream Thrush was decent in limited. Obviously unplayable in Constructed. "Porting" a mana-screwed opponent was fairly horrible but useful. A 2 in Limited, a 1 in Constructed.
