Now this is a really interesting card.  You can protect one or more permanents, then sac this to bring them back when you need them.  Your opponent needs to be mindful that as an ability, these permanents can be brought back instant speed, so WHAM, they may suddenly be staring down a creature that wasn't there a moment ago to block with.  It doesn't always seem to make the cut, but if you have some key permanents that you would like to protect, it's worth considering.

An interesting variant that has been tried over the years. It is never worth it, though, as you have to dedicate spots in your deck to saving other cards, spots which could better be used to present more threats or more widely available saves. I would never play this, as it is too narrow for me.

A Safe Haven artifact. This card is a pretty good limited card at times. Its a bit expensive to use, but I've had a few times when I played it, and it was a life saver. Nothings better than having your myr enforcer twice, or your leonin skyhunter twice, or your rustmouth ogre twice. This card can be awesome. Just hope someone doesn't destroy it when you have a load saved on it and you can't pay the 2.

This card is only good if you can protect it with lots of counterspells.
This means you'll have to be going blue and some other color. It's also tough on you because you tap out on turn 1 and 2 and possibly will only be able to play 1cc spells on turn 3. I guess it could be a good set-up for Wrath of God but otherwise, it's crap.
In Limited, there really isn't a way you can protect this thing from being removed so it's pretty bad.

It constructed, it has a few uses, but none that make it worth putting into a deck. It's too slow to get it's effect off.

In limited, it deceivingly bad. You take it thinking that you can take advantage of it, but honestly, the moment never comes or you don't have the mana.
