I loath this Reya Dawnbringer, I think she
is useless in constructed. Her
casting cost is impossible for most decks to play,
and a mono white deck
wouldn't have any creatures it would need to
really bring back constantly to
win a game. It would be merely a cosmetic
creature, there simply to look
nice. The only deck this little one is
played in is Reyanimator, and quite
frankly I think that deck is a joke, because it's
too inconsistant for this
. I give her a 1.5. Don't get me
wrong, her ability is cool, and she's a
decent creature, but unless you can subvert the
multitudes of bounce and
counters, she'll never hit the board.
In limited, she's really good. She's not
god, though. Her ability is
devastating to anyone who plays against her, and
she's got a good power.
Unfortunately, two things make her bad in Invasion
block limited: 1) the WWW
in her casting cost is almost unbearable for the
three color limited set
known as Invasion Block; 2) White is bad in
Invasion block, and she ties
you to white like one would tie down a suitcase to
the top of a car; and 3)
she's still a hefty 9 mana. So, I give her a
hesitant 4, almost a 3.5
because of those considerable drawbacks.
an Angel. She's a Legend. She's a hottie who
ends the game for your opponent. I've drafted
this big ol girl a few times and while you don't
want to draw her early, if the game lasts long
enough to get her on the table, it won't last
much longer, as your opponent will succumb to an
avalanche of card advantage as all your
creatures come back from the dead.
Reya is quite the beast in Limited. She can
scales heavily in your favor if you can get out
mana to cast her. In Constructed, she's a
to handle since she can get searched out and then
Reanimated, Exhumed, etcetera, and then bash your
opponent with the other guys in your graveyard
Verdant Force or Avatar of Woe.
a big creature with a great ability and a huge
casting cost. Works well in reanimator style
constructed decks but still is not usually the first
choice. Reya is pretty but the casting cost pretty
much keeps her out of the constructed environment.
In limited she can be great but you have to build
with her special ability in mind. Sorry I don't have
anything funny to say today but I just heard about
the Great Bob Maher's DCI troubles. Something about
the story doesn't seem right...
much should you pay for a 4/6 white flyer that
brings back a creature from your graveyard to play
each turn? The answer? Apparently not
as much as
Reya. Reya only sees play in the type 2
decks, and hardly ever gets played for its casting
cost (meaning it gets brought out some other way).
In limited, Reya should be a monster! If you
your way up to the 9 mana, you should have plenty
creatures in your graveyard by that point, all
to get brought back out. Unfortunately,
one of the stronger colors to draft or play in
is great for fun. She just costs a million.
Without some way to get her out of the
graveyard with recursion, she isn't that effective
in constructed play. See is pretty slow even
for limited play, but she could be worth it.
She is hard to kill if she gets out.
I wouldn't recommend her as a key card in any
format to anyone though.
Limited : 1.9
drafted Reya. I've had her in my hand in
Limited. I've never cast
her. She's so expensive to cast that she
almost never can be cast from your
hand. But she's a machine when it comes to
Reanimation decks. Rey-animator
is the decktype, and can be really insane.
She's very limited though and
her ability is not without its problems. In
constructed she's a 2.5, in
limited, if you have the mana she's a 4, but
usually she's a nice old 1
sitting in your hand.
It's a sad fact that even the coolest high cost
spells aren't gonna be very
Even so, in limited you HAD to play this fat flier
because when you DO
manage to cast Reya she's a Savage Bomb!!!!
Nothing beter than swinging
for 4 thru the air and recursing creatures
directly back into play EVERY
Reya is one rather large woman. She has an
ass that Richard Simmons can't do anything
about. On top of that, she brings friends to
the party too. But in the end, she's like a
really expensive stripper: everyone wants her at
the party, but when the time comes, you just can't
get up enough dough. She's fat - too
fat. In constructed, she's not getting
cast. You need some alternate method to get
her out. Death is nice, but that's nine
life. Ugh. I'd like to think she's
playable, but sadly, no - she's only pretty to
In limited, though, she's the thing that hit
Hiroshima AND Nagasaki. What a bomb.
Limited games, especially sealed, can go on for
quite some time. Her hitting the board late
when people are out of removal spells death for
your opponent. Not AS good in draft, but
