Libromancer Realized – #DIFO-EN088

You can reveal 1 “Libromancer” Ritual Monster in your hand: Special Summon 1 “Fire Token” (Cyberse/FIRE/ATK 0/DEF 0) with the same Level as the revealed monster. While you control that Token, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except “Libromancer” monsters. You can only use this effect of “Libromancer Realized” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Libromancer Realized helps get materials for Ritual Summons without committing monsters to the actual summon.

Revealing cards is a theme of the archetype, and as long as you play them that has no negative towards you. Revealing a Ritual Monster to get a “Fire Token” that has the same Level as that Ritual Monster, giving you exactly what you need for the Ritual Summon. Special Summon Geek Boy, search this card, reveal the Ritual Monster you revealed to Special Summon Geek Boy, get your token for the Ritual Summon, boom! That token will lock you into Libromancer monsters only, once again an archetype-specific lockdown that doesn’t hurt at all. With all the different Types of monsters Libromancer use within the Main Deck it’s hard for me to see what monster they’d like to Special Summon in the Main Deck that would suddenly be a dead card with this token out. I suppose you could splash in some other Special Summon monsters like Dogmatika if you weren’t going to use your Extra Deck, maybe Drytron because they Ritual Summon too? I mean, you can Link Summon with this token and be able to Special Summon any monsters after that, so the restriction isn’t really an issue.

Libromancer Realized makes Ritual Summoning easy. You can use your Libromancer monsters for Link Summons now instead of Ritual Summons because the token will eat up the entirety of the Ritual Summon. If you can get that Ritual Monster in the hand alongside one of your searchers, you will get to this card and get your token.

Next up we got our new Spell to make your Rituals extremely easy to summon: Libromancer Realized.

Realized is a Continuous Spell that lets you reveal a Libromancer Ritual Monster in your hand to summon a Fire Token (Cyberse/FIRE/ATK 0/DEF 0) with the same Level as the revealed monster, but you can only summon Libromancer monsters while you control the Token. So you get a Token with the Level to match your Ritual Monster to go alongside your Field Spell to help you instantly Ritual Summon the monster or a Ritual Spell to do so. It’s fair to lock you to Libromancers while you have the Token so youu don’t try anything else with it. Hard once per turn on this effect, cause with the Field Spell they don’t want to make every Ritual in your hand easy to get on board. Realized is a fine card, but feels bricky at more than 1. It’s searchable, so you’re fine not running too many, but I think it has a guaranteed place in the Deck.

Switching to Continuous Magic, here’s Libromancer Realized.  This time, revealing a Ritual Monster gives you a Cyberese Token (Level 1, Fire, 0 atk/def) whose Level becomes equal to that of the Ritual revealed.  To only assist in your Ritual plays (or perhaps even other Extra Deck plays, this should end up being high Level for you).  As long as you control the Token, you’re locked into Theme only Special Summons, but while that continues to annoy me, getting a Token of about any Level you desire with no restrictions as to what can be done with it makes it pretty hard to be upset.  You’re only able to do this Once per Turn, which is appropriate also to keep you from flooding the board with Rituals (or whatever else).

A late start (which is sad because I had a bit to say about Libromancer Fire) but better late than never! Libromancer Realized continues our coverage of the Dimension Force Libromancer support; as a Continuous Spell, it can be searched by Libromancer Geek Boy, so at least there are now more targets than just Libromancer First Appearance. Realized has a single hard once per turn effect, letting you reveal a Libromancer Ritual monster in your hand to Special Summon a Fire Token, which is a FIRE Cyberse monster with 0 attack and defense and the same level as the revealed Ritual monster. As a consequence, while you control that token, you can only Special Summon Libromancer monsters, which is fine in pure builds but stings in hybrid builds. Ideally, the token won’t stick around for long; Realized is essentially an easy way to get access to the on-field effects of the Libromancer Rituals. The card isn’t totally useless, but you guys know me, I hate extenders that don’t get much done on their own; you’ll still need to get access to a Ritual Spell, making it a possible brick. That said, between Geek Boy, First Appearance, and Fire, the archetype itself has amazing search power along with Ritual goodies like Diviner of the Herald, so I can see it as a situational 1-of if you need more search targets for Geek Boy.
