Law of the Cosmos – #LED7-EN035

Your opponent can Set 1 Trap directly from their hand or Deck. Then, if they did, Special Summon 1 “Jinzo” from your Deck. If they did not, add 1 “Jinzo”, or 1 monster that specifically lists that card in its text, from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 “Law of the Cosmos” per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Law of the Cosmos does something you don’t want to ever do: give your opponent something beneficial.

Giving your opponent a trap from their deck and allowing them to set it on your turn is a high cost to pay to get a free “Jinzo” monster. You can get a few different Jinzo monsters in the deck, and Jinzo the Machine Menace can pop itself to get a Jinzo and wipe the board of your opponent traps. On the off-chance your opponent doesn’t set a trap card, you get a card to your hand that mentions Jinzo. Lets be honest here, there wouldn’t be any reason why your opponent wouldn’t set a trap unless they knew you’d destroy it straight-away. It thins your deck by one and will give you something regardless of what your opponent does. Psychic Bounder off of Law of Cosmos will get you another Jinzo spell, thinning the deck again and you won’t have to worry about your opponent setting a trap.

Weigh the risks and play at your own risk.

Next up is a new Spell to help you get to your Jinzo easier, Law of the Cosmos.

LotC is a Normal Spell that gives your opponent the option to set a Trap directly from their Deck. If they do set a Trap, you get to Special Summon a Jinzo from the Deck, basically nullifying the Trap they just set already. This does rely on the opponent using Traps, but there are still good staple Traps like Infinite Imperm still, so it’s likely the opponent has Traps. You’re giving the opponent a free card, though, so if the opponent gets rid of the Jinzo, they can use the Trap you gave them. If they don’t set the Trap then you can search for the Jinzo or a Monster that lists Jinzo in the text from the Deck to the hand, so nice way to get to the Monster support for this archetype. You can only use one a turn, which sounds about as expected. It’s a fine card since the advantage you could give the opponent is nullified with Jinzo or you don’t give them a free card and just get a simple search. It’s pretty good I’d say.

Midweek brings us to Law of the Cosmos, a Normal Magic card, and this is a rather interesting one.  Your opponent has the option to Set a Normal Trap from their Deck to the Field.  Always an interesting gambit to give your opponent a free card, but if they choose to do so, you get to drop a Jinzo to the Field from your Deck, making said Trap useless.  At least for the time being.  If they decline, you get to add Jinzo, or one Monster listing him in its text from your Deck to your Hand.  So you’re getting a free card yourself, either to the Field or Hand, regardless.  You can only activate one a turn, which makes sense, as dropping 3 Jinzo in a turn would be a bit of a power move.  (3 to your Hand maybe not so much).  It’s a simple but effective card that can do more than one thing and is cost free to use, so I’m a fan.

Art:  4/5  While I’m a fan of the art here, nice colors, I’m a big space fan, the name doesn’t quite meet the art here for me.
