Knightmare Incarnation Idlee
– #DANE-EN017

Level 9 monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. You can only use each of the following effects of “Knightmare Incarnation Idlee” once per turn.
● If the total Link Rating of the monsters on the field is 8 or more (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon this card from your hand.
● If this card is Special Summoned, while your opponent controls more Link Monsters than you do: You can send all Link Monsters on the field to the GY.

Some stats are boss, some stats are not. Knightmare Incarnation Idlee is a Level 9 Dark Fairy-type monster with 2100 Atk and 2100 Def. That Atk and Def are just too low for Level 9. Idlee also has boss like protection from destruction effects spread to all Level 9 monsters under your control. Battle protection would be nice for herself, but some protection is better than none. Idlee also has 2 great, free, hard once per turn effects. If the total Link Rating on the field is 8 or more, Idlee Special Summons herself as a Quick Effect. That’s a free monster on board during either turn that can’t be destroyed by effects. The second effect only requires that Idlee be Special Summoned by any means while your opponent has more Link Monsters than you do. You get to send all Link Monsters from the field to the grave. Non targeting removal is the best, and the current format should always make this an advantageous effect. Special Summon Idlee from any of her support: Valhalla, Knightmare, Superbia, her own effect, etc. Knightmare Incarnation Idlee has a lot going for her, with the noticeable fault of her Atk. Still, a great start to the week. Happy Monday!

Score: 4.25/5     Art: 5/5 Knightmare worthy.

Theme of the week is the World Legacy lore and the cards involved in it, starting with Knightmare Incarnation Idlee.

Idlee is a Level 9 DARK Fairy with 2100 ATK and DEF. Stats are poor for a Level 9, DARK is a great attribute, and I like the Fairy typing. Idlee on the field gives all your Level 9 monsters on the field protection from destruction via card effects, but in all honesty you’ll likely use multiple Level 9s for a Rank 9 Xyz, but having the protection as an option is great. The other two effects of Idlee are hard once per turns. First off, if the total Link Rating of monsters on the field is 8 or more, you can Special Summon Idlee from the hand as a Quick Effect. This is obviously going to be great in Link Heavy formats to get a quick body on board, 8 is also the minimum Link Rating of an Extra Link, which is important to note because the second effect is that if this card is Special Summoned and your opponent controls more Link Monsters than you do, you can send all Link Monsters on the field to the graveyard. Non-targeting, non-destruction mass removal of an Extra Link is great to have access to because you yourself want to go into your Extra Deck 99% of the time. Even if you don’t Special Summon her off her own effect, you got Valhalla since she’s a Fairy and you got Knightmare Mermaid due to this being a Knightmare. World Legacy Monstrosity can summon this as well as long as you don’t have a DARK or Fairy since she’s Level 9. Idlee is mostly being summoned off her own effect probably, and that’s fine. This is a good card, though very format dependent when decks are heavy on spamming Link Monsters. This would of been great against Gouki Knightmares.

Advanced Rating: 4/5

Art: 4.5/5 That’s something I’d see in my nightmares.

We have a (K)nightmare for you to open the week, appropriate for a Monday, in my opinion, with Knightmare Incarnation Idlee.  A Dark, Fairy (I love as much as the Light/Fiends out there) who is Level 9 with 2100 attack and defense.  So first, yes, we’ll note how those are great stats for a Level 9 Monster.  But she does offer protection to Level 9s you control, from Battle and destruction by card effects.

That’s probably honestly not going to happen outside herself, but it helps in herself alone, and anything you get past that is a bonus, in my opinion.  So, despite the poor stats for her Level, she can be Special Summoned via the Hand if the Link Rating on the board is 8 or more.  That’s also a Quick Effect, and once per turn.  Naturally so you can’t swarm out or into any big Rank 9 XYZ of your own.

Lastly, if Special Summoned while your opponent controls more Link Monsters than you, you get to send ALL Link Monsters to the Graveyard.  You’re rewarded for them being out with a Special Summon of this, and then your opponent is punished for having them out by losing them.  Simplest and best case is a 1 to 0 so you don’t lose anything, but it’s a solid enough, fun card, especially for a Monday.

Art:  5/5 to start the week.  It’d be a hell to see that in your nightmare, I’m onboard with that.  All her hair seems to be alive, dragons perhaps?  The bright cool colors on her are great and contrast (and compliment) with the warm darker colors in back too.  Love it
