Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior
– #MACR-EN021

To Tribute Summon this card face-up, you can Tribute a Continuous Spell/Trap Card you control, instead of a monster. Once per turn, during either player’s turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect while you control this Tribute Summoned monster: You can take 1 “True Draco” or “True King” Continuous Spell Card from your Deck, and either activate it or add it to your hand.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior went all the way to 3 on the newest ban list update.

One-tribute 2400ATK standard stuff for a Level 6. FIRE Attribute lacks main deck-worthy support, but in its True Draco archetype it has enough to work with. Ignis Heat has a search-and-choose ability that you can activate every turn, as long as he was Tribute Summoned. Search out a True Draco or True King Continuous Spell and either activate it straight-away or just add it to your hand when your opponent activates a card or effect. You will get this effect regardless of Ignis being on the field, so it will give you back what it takes. You have two targets for Ignis to search: Disciples or Heritage. Disciples will shuffle back 3 True Draco/True King and give you a draw, then trade if destroyed. Heritage though doesn’t give you advantage until your Main Phase. Both give you a Tribute Summon on your opponents turn, which can be very handy if you summon Dreiath III for protection of your True Draco/True Kings.

The archetype has endured despite the limits and losses. They got some stuff back this time around.

Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior is a Level 6 Fire Wyrm-type monster with 2400 Atk and 1000 Def. So the stats are good. So good in fact that he can be searched in Monarch decks as well. He has an easy Tribute Summon and a good search effect but only after he was Tribute Summoned. You can use any face-up Continuous Spell or Trap on your field to be the single tribute necessary for his summon. After the successful Tribute Summon, he can search any True Draco or True King Continuous Spell to your hand or activate it right away. This effect can be applied once per turn after your opponent activates anything during either player’s turn. It’s too bad he doesn’t really destroy anything, but still a good monster all around. Ignis Heat also has great artwork like must True this or that. He’s off the banlist, so own it in triplicate, but only 2 are necessary in True Draco decks.

Next up on the Forbidden and Limited List week is a card that went straight from 1 to 3 despite the deck not really being power-crept yet I feel: Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior.

Ignis Heat is a Level 5 FIRE Wyrm with 2400 ATK and 1000 DEF. Stats gives you some Monarch support this can synergize with. FIRE is sadly not as good as I want it to be, but Wyrm is still a good type that Konami pushed in the Arc-V era. Ignis Heat can be Tribute Summoned using any Continuous Spell or Trap. Basically you don’t even have to summon anything in the duel before you can Tribute Summon this, it can come to the field just by setting a Trap or activating a Spell and then proceeding to Tribute it, and if it is a True King/Draco Spell or Trap you tribute, it will likely destroy something your opponent controls. Ignis Heat also lets you take a True King or True Draco Continuous Spell and either add it to your hand or activate it to your side of the field when your opponent activates a card or effect while you control this Tribute Summoned card. As I mentioned sorta, this card should be easy to Tribute Summon, especially since it only needs one tribute. Effects are important in this game, unless your opponent is playing a deck full of Normal Monsters. Ignis Heat should have no issue getting you to the True Draco or True King Continuous Spells, both of which are really good and are unlimited currently. Ignis is important for the consistency of True Dracos, which is what will keep this deck meta relevant now that Master Peace is gone.

Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior.  It’s odd when a card moves more than one slot up or down the list.  We have a card that went from Limited to Unlimited.  Master Peace was Banned, so this is likely an effort to (over) compensate for that.  2400 attack on a Level 5, good (low defense of 1000, and that’s common enough) Fire, Wyrm, like you’re surprised.  Gives you the familiar Tribute a face-up Continuous Magic or Trap instead of a Monster.  He’s good, very good, especially with Master Peace gone.  Once a turn (during either player’s turn) when your opponent activates a card or an effect (so long as you control this card and it was Tribute Summoned) you can take an add a True King or True Draco Continuous Magic card from your Deck to your Hand, OR, immediately activate it.   He’s strong, he’s fast, can bring out more of himself (since you can use three) so we’ll see how this plays out with the Archtype.
