Hello Pojo Fans,

Icejade Tremora ends the Icejade look this week.

A good 1-for-1 for any WATER monster in your hand, Tremora can be splashed into any WATER-based strategy with an effect like that. When it comes to Icejade, Tremora can banish herself to Special Summon an Icejade from the hand or grave whenever a WATER is destroyed and sent to the grave. Like with Acti and Tinola, Tremora will Special Summon a new Icejade from the hand or grave no matter how a face-up WATER on your field is destroyed. Not many effects are flipping cards face-down anymore, so you won’t have to worry about something along the lines of a Book of Eclipse/Red Dragon Archfiend scenario. 1500ATK makes Tremora the strongest of the Level 4 or lower Icejade monsters and a decent attacker. Her discard to Special Summon from the hand is the easiest way to get your higher level Icejade monsters out and start playing with your Extra Deck, or dropping bigger WATER monsters that were put in the deck.

Very good monster for the archetype, probably the best because of her utility and ease of use. She doesn’t search, but she can Special Summon another Icejade and start triggering their effects.

The week ends off with the Icejade I assume Konami really likes, hence it’s Secret Rare status vs the other two being Commons: Icejade Tremora.

Tremora is a Level 5 WATER Aqua with 1500 ATK and DEF, so still bad stats for the Level and that nice Type/Attribute combo. You can send this card from the hand to the graveyard to Special Summon a WATER monster from your hand, so really you get to cheat out your bigger WATER monsters or bypass the 1 Normal Summon a turn technically, which is fine. Any way to help you make plays is pretty good. Second effect remains the same from the previous two Icejades, which is again is good to have another option to do this and the banish does let you search other copies with Cradle. Tremora is a pretty good card with some potential in other WATER strategies, and it’s another way for Icejades to get their boss monster out if you don’t have their Field Spell, or just another Icejade in general. Another decent card to end the week.

Art: 4.5/5 I just like all the cards in the bubbles with the Albaz lore related stuff, even if you have to look closely to see it.

Isn’t it Friday?  Don’t we usually do Extra Deck cards on Friday?  All joking aside, Icejade Tremora closes this week, being a Water/Aqua still, Level 5 Monster with 1500 atk/def.  Still not flattering stats there, but less so on a Level 5, but let’s keep going.  So, Discarding this lets you Special Summon a Water Monster from your Hand.  Not the first time we’ve seen this 1-for-1 this week, but it’s a good start for this card.  The face-up Water Monster(s) destruction clause is still here, where Battle or Card Effect destruction with this in the Grave and then removing it lets you Special Summon any of these guys from your Deck.  Other than itself, and only once per Effect, per Turn.  Better than Tuesday, not as good as Monday, but definitely not without use here.

Art:  4/5  This one I actually enjoy the background and decoration a bit more than the art of the Monster.  The green almost contrasts the blue too much, where it’s not as pretty.

We close the week with Icejade Tremora, which is currently the “boss” of the Icejade archetype only in the sense that it has the highest stats among them in their initial wave (thankfully, their real boss was recently released in Battles of Chaos, which we should cover relatively soon). It’s a level 5 WATER aqua monster, being a level higher than its buddies. 1500 attack and defense are pitiful for a level 5 monster, which cements this first wave of Icejades as support for other WATER archetypes.

As with the other two, both effects of Tremora are a hard once per turn. By discarding Tremora, you can special summon any other WATER monster from your hand. Notably, it’s a hand effect, so it more than makes up for Tremora being level 5. Aside from other Icejades, you could summon the combo behemoth Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth, or simply use Tremora as an extender in any other WATER deck, especially decks like Ursarctic or Mermail that use a lot of high level monsters. On top of that, Tremora has the same banishing effect as the other Icejades, banishing itself from the graveyard when a WATER monster is destroyed by battle or card effects to special summon another Icejade from your hand or graveyard. Though it can’t combo by itself, like the other Icejades, at least you won’t need to bank on opening specific monsters that want to be discarded for it to shine.

Art: 4/5 Not much to say here, really pretty like the other Icejade cards
