Hieratic Seal of Creation

Hieratic Seal of Creation – #GFTP-EN005

Target 1 Dragon Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 “Hieratic” Xyz Monster with a different original name, by using that target as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Hieratic” monster in your GY; Special Summon it in Defense Position. You can only use 1 “Hieratic Seal of Creation” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Hieratic Seal of Creation is more Hieratic support the deck could use.

A sort of Metamorphosis for Hieratic monsters. Use a Dragon Xyz monster’s effect(s), then use Creation to turn them into a Hieratic Xyz monster and use their effect(s). You can also use a Hieratic Xyz monster like Atum, then turn it into either Sky or Sun Dragon. If Creation was a Quick-Play it would be even better, allowing you to attack then chain and get another attack, but being able to use the best Xyz, Atum, and go into your field clearing Sun Dragon with two materials on it is pretty good. This can also work with monsters that can have multiple materials like the Galaxy Xyz monsters, but the Hieratic Xyz monsters are once per turn so more than two won’t matter. Banish to reborn a Hieratic in defense was needed in the deck. With no other ways to reborn from their grave, the deck had to depend on stuff like Monster Reborn, now they have a card that works with both their Xyz strategy and their tributing of monsters from the hand/field.

Hieratic Seal of Creation may be slow (not able to use each effect in the same turn) but both effects were sourly needed. Another reborn for the deck gives them more access to monsters to tribute, while being able to use the same card to cycle through two Xyz monsters gives them options without having to get the matching levels on the field for both Xyz monsters.

Don’t see Hieratic support every day. If anything, outside their debut in Galactic Overlord and maybe a new card or two in Return of the Duelist, the only other time we got Hieratic support was Heavenly Spheres 2 years ago. It’s nice to see the archetype get more love and they got a pretty decent Spell in Hieratic Seal of Creation.

Creation is a Normal Spell that lets you target a Dragon Xyz you control and Special Summon a Hieratic Xyz from the Extra Deck with a different name from the target by using the target and its Xyz Materials as material, this is treated as an Xyz Summon. Nice way to help cheat out Hieratic Xyzs while ignoring the Ranks of whatever you target. Any chance to get to Hieratic Dragon King of Atum is great considering it’s still a great Rank 6 to this day, even if locked to Dragons. You could also summon either of the Heliopolis Rank 8s with this, with Sun Dragon Overlord letting you tribute monsters to get some pops and Sky Dragon Overlord giving you some targeting protection. The second effect of this card lets you banish it from the graveyard to target a Hieratic monster in the grave and Special Summon it in Defense Position. This does prevent you from reviving Heavenly Spheres, but you really want to summon that in an Extra Monster Zone more than anything for its disruption. Getting to any of your Hieratics in grave is nice to tribute them off again and float into any of your vanilla Dragons for Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summons. Two great effects, you can just use one a turn as we see on the last clause of Creation, which is more than fair. This can be a pretty good card for any Hieratic variant. Getting quick Atum access, if not the Heliopolis Rank 8s if you targeting Atum, is pretty good and the revival can be nice to restart your plays.

Another Theme we haven’t seen get any support in a long time being Hieratic gives us Hieratic Seal of Creation.  This lets you first Special Summon a Hieratic XYZ Monster from the Extra Deck, so long as you Target and use a Dragon type XYZ on your Field.  This Rank up and replace tactic has been growing over the years in this game, and anyway tnn in drop an XYZ to the Field that lets you use one you already gave and transfer its Material is always going to benefit you.  Even if your Material is used, you should still have at least two on whatever your bring to the Field, possibly more.  The Hieratic revival by removing this card from play is great as well.  Said Monster is revived in Defense position and only one of these effects can be used once each per turn.  The first side there is absolutely necessary or you could rank out quickly (at least potentially) too fast and flood your Field with a few XYZ rather quickly.  I guess the last part is too.  You could drop 3 big Hieratic to your Field at once and start the whole thing over again.

Art:  3/5  A little underwhelming, to be honest, but the seal is present, and breaking and glowing.  So it’s accurate enough at least to the name
