Subject: Nightcrawler/Quicksilver 'Shotgun' Strategy - Joel L. Lets get to business first. This team is a 200 pt. team I usually play in casual games. Also please note it works best on Indoor maps . First, Figures: Nightcrawler (Unique) (Clobberin' time) 83 pts. 3x Quicksilver (Vet) (Infinity Challenge) 23 pts. (x3 = 84) Shield Medic (vet) (Infinity Challenge) 16 pts. A.I.M. medic (vet) (Clobberin' Time ) 17 pts. Total Points: 200 Now, The basic strategy: This is a pretty offensive Team. First you want to place your figures fairly spread apart. Put 2 Quicksilvers near the far end of the figure placement area. Put the medics near the back middle. Put nightcrawler in fonrt of the medics. Then place the final Quicksilver opposite of the other two. The Idea is to keep your Quicksilvers around to harrass the enemy close range and long range attackers. Meanwhile Nightcrawler (via Hypersonic Speed) should be able to get in close and knock out all but the toughest figures. The Medics should usually just stay in place (together, so just incase your opponent is packin' a medic-whackin' Nightcrawler of their own). Retreat your units only when they need healing. As far as figure-specific targets should go, Nightcrawler should go take out Enemy Medics first, Quicksivlers should tie-up range Attackers, and the Medics should stay put. Notes: -Rarely should you push! Pushing means your guys are slowing down, and that should not be the problem. -But if you must push make sure you're only doing it to escape. -Use common sense! No way tieing up a behemoth like Hulk with Quicksilver is good. -Don't underestimate Flurry! -If you aren't on the offense you aren't winning. -Tieing up with quicksilver is just a way of buying time to Nightcrawler gets over there. Incase Nightcrawler or 2 or more Quicksilver's kick the bucket: Play defensive and pray. Pull back what units you have and make your Enemy's come to you. If you lose blame it on the dice rolls =P Indoor Map strategy: You should have an easy time, since flyers won't be able to evade. If you keep the nightcrawler and quicksilvers together it can go more quickly. Find any small room with plenty of cover for your medics. Outdoor Map strategy: The only fear here is that any sort of sniper unit may get hard to get to. Luckily even if that happens, Quicksilver has Shield Def. Roof your medics. Keep nightcrawler bouncin' around. Modifications: As far as Team tweaking goes, sometimes switching out for a figure with Leadership may be a good idea (move actions mean the plan goes faster and more smoothly). Try using more multiples of the Avengers version of Quicksliver for a 'free move' idea . Adding figures for a larger game (300 pts.) should Have the same idea (Leadership and free move). If you want throw in a cheap taxi (Like rookie Vulture for example.) Any other comments? Ideas? Questions? Joel L. JetsetNeo@msn.com
