The Darkness Battlefield Condition card will be in effect for the entire game. It will be the only condition allowed and will not be cancelled by other conditions (Ordinary Day). First of all, divide your map in 12 equal rectangles. These should be 8 squares by 6 squares on a normal map. The end of each of these areas should be marked with one of the area markers. The areas should be assigned a number between 1 and 12. Once this is done, place the armies as per the standard rules. When the game begins, each player takes their first turn as usual. Once both players have had one turn, the meteor shower begins. Before each player gets his turn, roll the 12 sided die and find the area the number corresponds to. The meteor shower will be striking that area for this turn. Each character who is in that area will suffer a six sided die minus 2 of damage. In gamer’s terms, this would be 1d6-2. This means that a roll of 2 would result in no damage (Roll of 2 minus 2 = 0) while a roll of 6 would result in a damage of 4 clicks (roll of 6 minus 2 = 4). This die roll will be made once for each character in that area. This damage can be avoided or reduced with powers. The reason we use such high point armies is to ensure that your team will not get wiped out after a couple of lucky meteor showers. Higher point cost characters are normally those that would stand up more easily to such potential abuse. This kind of scenario will create a strategy of armies that cannot huddle together or risk the chance of getting wiped out in one single turn. We have played this scenario twice in an evening and found that these rules would make the game as exciting as possible.
