ANALYSIS:
This is the craziest dial since Supernova's
Experienced Captain Marvel...funny how it's another
company's Captain Marvel. For such a nutjob, LE
Shazam starts his dial as a basic Super Strong,
Charging brick...just right for an opening strike.
But pushing him becomes a dilemma.
His 2nd click gains Outwit. That's good. But he
loses Super Strength and Impervious for a weak 15
Defense + Toughness with Incapacitate, making this a
slot you never want to push onto. Leaving that one
for the 3rd click is no good, either;
17/Invulnerability is balanced out by a putrid 7
Attack Value and the return of Battle Fury. And so
on: 4th click gains Hypersonic Speed and Prob
Control but 5th has weak AV and DV stats. This dial
hits highs and lows like a roller coaster except for
the back end's DV, which levels out then sinks to a
low of 13. And that, in my opinion, is the nail in
the tire that ends this joyride.
FEATS?
DAMAGE SHIELD works often, but not on the clicks he
most needs it to. FORTITUDE is a better fit because
he can't afford to lose a single power on those weak
clicks.
ETC.
Reflects a post-Infinite Crisis Captain Marvel who's
inherited the power of the old Wizard Shazam and
can't quite handle it.
IN SUM:
He's powerful, boasting a very strong AV and Damage
deep in his dial. But inconsistent early defense
(that becomes decidedly mediocre down the stretch)
and unfortunate AV stat dips make for few reasons to
pick this LE over the Veteran Shazam, who's just 12
points more.
