Today's review is Silver Surfer from Avengers

I think by this point, we all know who the Silver Surfer
is.  Here is the third Power Cosmic version of him we have
					gotten in a year.

He is a Unique, 231 points, 10 range 2 targets, 9 clix of
life, a flier, no AE, and Power Cosmic

					Special Power –
Cosmic Speed – Can only use Option 1 of HSS when attacking

					Clicks – Speed –
					2,5,6

Speed:   Lots of HSS and HSS-Lite alight with some Running shot and
phasing to run away, very nice

Attack:  EE works well with 2 targets, but doesn’t
work with HSS. We only get the psy blast/RS combo for one
click, so that is disappointing.  If you are running a
standard slingshot team, you will almost never use the psy
					blast and EE over HSS.

Defense:  Numbers are average, and no Impervious?
Regen helps and ESD gives him a nice 18 defense to sit on
while running away to nanobot back up

Damage:  No powers is weird, but you wouldn’t be able
to use them anyway with all that movement, so no
complaints.  Numbers aren’t great, but I guess not awful
either.  He can always nanobot back up to Cosmic Speed

The Good:  10 range 2 targets

					       4 clicks of HSS

					       Good, Consistent attack
					values

					       Phasing to run away

					       EE and Psy Blast work
					with 2 targets

					       Upfront 11 attack and
					HSS on a Surfer

					       Power Cosmic team

					The Bad:
					 Powers don’t work with HSS

					                No Impervious

9 clicks is really short for the points

Damage isn’t as good as it should be

Feats:  Armor Piercing, Nanobots, Shellhead, and
Protected work best.  At the very least, shellhead is a
must.  You can fit shellhead and nanobots along with a
rookie tornado in a 300 point game

Overall:  When they finally showed all the heralds, a
lot of people had complaints about ol’ Radd here.  I can see
that the biggest complaint of all is the short dial; he
should be at least 10 for the points.  Then again, the V
from Supernova has 10 clicks and he is 30 points more.  The
key thing here is the massive amount of HSS with high damage
and it is UPFRONT.  Keeping him a strong Alpha Strike piece
that never really craps out is very important here.  Also,
if he does get hit down to his last few clicks, he can
always break away and run to an object to nanobot back up to
Cosmic Speed.  I see a lot of potential with this piece, and
can pretty much be a one man army if used right.  TK is a
must, because it will be tough for people to catch him.
Also, he is the first HSS piece in a while to start with
more than a 10 movement. That makes him really unique these
days, and more dangerous than you would think.

					Constructed/Unrestricted:  4 / 5

Sealed/Draft:  4.5 / 5 (Can you use him during CoG?  If not,
					then its N/A)

					Overall:   4 / 5

					practically sell themselves.”
