Today's review is Jean Grey from Danger Room

I missed out on the last time we reviewed her (Friday the week  I joined on), so for us who missed out, here is the review

You know the story…Original X-man…married Cyclops….phoenix force….dark phoenix….died….came back….died….came back….died….

She is a Veteran, 50 points, 6 range 1 target, 6 clicks of life, and an X-Men team member

Speed:  Mind control with one target is a waste, but for the points it is a nice alternative

Attack:  Not bad values, frontloaded tk is always good, especially for two clicks, 1 target incap sucks, psychic blast keeps her useful

Defense:  ouch, starts at a 16 with no powers, she will go down fast

Damage:  ouch again, that is a lot of 1’s

The Good:  Cheap tk

      Decent third string attacker/support piece

      X-men team comes in handy

      Pretty consistent attack values

The Bad:   Really no movement powers

     Will die fast

     Low damage

Mind control and Incap with 1 target

Feats:   She is pure support, don’t bother

Overall:   Actually, I like this piece.  On paper, she is nothing special, but Frontloaded tk for 50 points is really good now-a-days.  She is more useful than rookie red tornado and rookie songbird,  and really the only better TK’er I can think of is LE Clarice Ferguson.  When Jean is done attacking, she still has decent attack stats to be an annoyance.  Her damage will suck, but the incap and Mind Control could give her one or two chances to be a pain.  X-Men team can help wildcards heal a click, and the psychic blast could snipe someone for a click.  She is by far not the best piece out there, but she is good for the points and rather useful.  She really shines in games 400 points and over, but in 300 she is good too.  She is my second favorite tournament legal Telekinesis piece.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 2.5 / 5

Sealed/Draft:  N/A / 5

Overall:  2.5 / 5

~ Excuse the messup on the dial of my last review. It was my first day after all. ~

Today's Click of the Day is Jean Grey

Classic Jean Grey. For anyone out there who doesn't know who Jean is, she's the doctor girl in the X-Men movie that keeps teasing a romance with Wolverine.

She is 50 points; Grounded; X-Men Team; 6 Range; 1 Bolt
     l       l        l      l      l        l          l         l         l       l         l
 8    8    17    7    7    6     KO    KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
 9    9    10    9    8    7     KO    KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
 16  16   16    15  15   14   KO    KO    KO    KO    KO    KO
 2    2     1     1    1     1    KO    KO    KO    KO    KO    KO

Speed is expected from a 50 pointer. To push to Mind Control would be wasteful due to the more supportive Telekinesis loaded front. Values stay pretty consistent.

Attack reaches above 8 for more than half the dial. There aren't many cheap telekinesis figures around and Jean runs two straight clicks of it. Incap. will never be used and near-death she gains Psychic Blast; another waste.

Defense has a lot of cool 16's and 15's but that means healing back to Telekinesis might become a longshot.

Damage ..I don't think anyone would use her to attack anyway, even if it was 3's and 2's straight through the dial. But maybe you'll get lucky and nail a brick for 1 damage with that Psychic Blast.

Sculpt -- I hope Jean doesn't wear her Danger Room costume in combat. Stick with the green and yellow.

Danger Room Jean Grey is better than the old one from IC but you don't really get much more. I only used the other one since it's Support and Telekinesis in one package. Exchanged for Support is useless Mind Control and Psychic Blast with super low attack values. Adding In Contact makes her expensive. Give her a shot if you want but don't expect the best.

Jean Grey rates: 2/5
