Today's review is Advanced Sentinel from Days of Future Past

Like the old Sentinel…but advanced…basically more points

Even though I think the Alpha 3 with ICWO to help capture is the best for tournaments, I just think the Omega 4 version is the most fun to play, so I will review him….it…whatever.

He is a Veteran, 400 points, 10 range 2 targets, a Colossal Figure, and no team

Speed:  6 of running shot is pretty cool, and charge doesn’t hurt either, numbers get low at end

Attack:  Pretty consistent, but not what you would expect for 400 points, not even a 12? The powers work good with the double target

Defense:  A single click of Invuln, followed by ESD, toughness, and CR, he can stay around pretty long for his 19 clicks of life

Damage:  3 and RCE…bad bad to start…should have been 5 with Outwit, next click is better

The Good:  19 clicks

      10 range 2 targets

All the powers work with 2 targets

Can stay around for a while

Has all the special abilities of being a Colossal Figure

      Capture

The Bad:    Not enough damage reduction

      Doesn’t do enough damage

That opening 3 damage RCE is really disappointing

His defense gets low, making it to easier to save a captured piece

Feats:   ICWO, Protected, Stunning Blow, Nanobots, and Armor Piercing work, but remember that the multiattack doesn’t work with feats

Overall:    He is more expensive than the old one, but you also get more damage and power options out of him too.  He is not good enough to be a one man army, but in the right hands…who knows.  The capture power is amazing, so make sure to use that if you can early on.  His attack values are not that great for 400 points, but they aren’t terrible either.  I am definitely going to use him just because of how fun I think he is.  And really, who doesn’t love that sculpt.  Maybe my score is a little biased because of my love for all the storylines with sentinels, but I just love this guy so much and was so excited for him.  I never got an old sentinel when I could, so finding an old sentinel now was almost out of the question (wasn’t going to pay an arm and a leg for one either).  My advice, use him, he will be fun, especially against x-men teams.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 3 / 5

Sealed/Draft: N/A / 5

Overall:  3 / 5

“Heroclix….they’re cool, addictive, and available….the things practically sell themselves.”
