OK, so at 870 pages, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a tad too long, but overall it's a great book. It starts with a bang, a Dementor attack on Harry in the Muggle World of 4 Privet Drive. As you can imagine, his Aunt and Uncle aren't too happy....what...stop? What do you mean this isn't a review of the latest Harry Potter book? OHHHH, sorry, I got my writing assignments mixed up. This is my review of Scorpion for Pojo's Heroclix board. Oh, OK. My Bad.

Scorpion is Spider-man villain with an interesting origin. See, he's an enhanced human with a suit of cybernetic armor, kind of like the movie version of the Green Goblin. He took a super-serum to give him super-strength and Spidey-like agility, but then he acquired a suit of armor with a powerful tail (complete with stinger) and force blasts. He's the "natural enemy" of Spider-man, and a former member of the Sinister Six. While he's no Joker, heck he's not even the Sandman, he's not a bad villain, if there is indeed such a thing (and there is, c.f. Wizard Magazine's Mort of the Month).

At 58 points for the veteran Scorpion, you're paying way too much for what you get. Sure, he's got a Defense of 16 with Toughness for 7 clicks, but that's about all you really get. An attack of 10 with incapacitate for one click isn't much, and a speed of 8 with leap/climb for most of the dial won't get you noticed. Sure, he's got one 8 square ranged attack, but at 58 points, you'd better.

Scorpion is an REV, but his vet is only a level 4 uncommon (his Rookie is a 2-common, and his exp. is a 3-uncommon.) This means he's only one tier above scrub. Price wise, he's also one tier above scrub, with sets of his REVs selling for no more than a couple of bucks. Sculptwise, WK did what they could, it's a nice fig, but do I really need that many of them? I think not.

I guess if I was doing a Sinister-Six themed game I'd have to have Scorps...otherwise....no freakin' way.

My ratings:
Collectability 2 of 5
Playability 2 of 5.

Villain week continues next time...same HC time, same HC channel.

Scorpion:

Overall, a nice fig to use for fun. Leap/climb makes him moble, and the higher versions have a little bit of toughness to keep them around a while. The vet version is nice with a high range attack, and is an excelent dick in sealed box. But otherwise, I wouldn't play him in a tournament. Mabey for fun, though.

200- Games: 2.75/5

300+ Games: 3/5

Sealed Box: 4/5
