Hello Pojo Fans,

Heavymetalfoes Electrumite…I can hear the other reviewers hitting the “5” key right now.

Generic Pendulum materials for the holy grail of Pendulum player advantage. Decent ATK for a Link 2,

Electrumite immediately gets you advantage off its Link Summon, thinning your deck for your choice of Pendulum Monster and putting it face-up in the Extra Deck for future use. Pop to add from the Extra Deck ties in with the previous effect, and this effect ties into the next effect: drawing a card off a Pendulum Zone becoming vacant. So, to sum up: Pendulum Summon > make Electrumite > Search awesome Pendulum Monster and put it in your Extra Deck > Pop a scale to get that card > Draw card off the scale pop (and then plus off the monster that was popped in the scale). This thing was so busted for any Pendulum strategy, but especially within its own archetype. Link Summoning Electrumite in a Metalfoes deck meant you were getting several cards each turn Electrumite was around. You could always pop a scale no matter what strategy and get that free draw, but if you had something on the field , like the newest Link Monster for the archetype: Amalgam, you could pop it to do the Pendulum search, then Amalgam would pop your scale to bring itself back, which then gets you a draw off Electrumite. It is bad enough you can cycle through one copy of each Metalfoes Normal Pendulum Monster you have on their own, but then you can pop the final one you play to get to a better Pendulum Monster and get a +1? Also, its arrows are in the corners, and while that doesn’t mean much now, it meant everything when this card was legal.

It is banned for a reason: bringing it back without an errata would mean a return for Pendulum Decks to at minimum Tier 2. Not sure you could errata it, since every effect is a once per turn. It is a great card for Pendulum players of any variety.

Anybody that accidently saw this review on Friday might of been spoiled of the Metalfoes week, but Throwback Thursday brings us the best Metalfoes card released, mostly cause it supports anything Pendulum related. I’m talking about Heavymetalfoes Electruimte.

Electrumite is a Link-2 FIRE Psychic with 1800 ATK and arrows pointing Bottom Left and Bottom Right. ATK is fine on Link-2, FIRE/Psychic is fun, and the arrows are much better to get an instant Pendulum Summon without going through more hoops. The summoning requirements are any 2 Pendulum Monsters, so super generic to get out in anything Pendulum related. Upon being Link Summoned, you can add a Pendulum Monster from your Deck to face-up in your Extra Deck. Basically you get immediate access to whatever Pendulum Monster you could want. I still remember the old Astrograph Sorcerer combo this card enabled for insane advantage. Electrumite also lets you pop a face-up card you control, just as a soft once per turn, to add a Pendulum Monster that’s face-up in the Extra Deck to your hand, basically adjustiting your Scales potentially and getting the Pendulum you want in hand there. The card you pop should also become fuel for a Pendulum Summon as well. The final effect on Electrumite is the lone hard once per turn, and it lets you draw a card if a Pendulum Card in the Pendulum Zone leaves the field. Free cards for no reason is pretty good, especially since Electrumite basically triggers this effect on his own with the previous effect. It’s an insanely powerful Link for all Pendulum Decks, not just Metalfoes. It’s a card I’m sure all Pendulum players want back in the format, similar to when HERO players wanted Stratos back. Just hope one day you get this back to 1, it’s a necessity for Pendulums when it’s legal.

Heavymetalfoes Electrumite earns Throwback Thursday honors this week. Link 2 again, 1800 attack (still not bad on Link 2) Fire/Psychic and arrows pointing to the respective bottom diagonals.  Link Summon requires 2 Pendulum Monsters.  Any 2 means this would, at least theoretically, have playability in other Decks.  Say, specifically, Pendulum oriented Decks.  This does work in the Theme to a degree.  Link Summon lets you move a Pendulum Monster from your Deck to your Extra Deck.  Face up, to combo with Parametalfoes Fusion at the very least.  Once a Turn, you can Target and destroy a face up card you control to move a face up Pendulum card to your Hand from your Extra Deck.  This part works against PMF Fusion, and I don’t understand why you couldn’t just add the card to your Hand in one step.  Plus since what you place and ideally retrieve is face up, your opponent knows it’s coming, and I’m not in favor of that. If a card(s) leaves your Pendulum Zone, you Draw a card.  The Draw is nice and it is encouraging you to destroy your cards to get a new one, even at once per Turn.  This card is just a contradictory to certain things, while trying to help, and not doing enough or being strong enough.
