SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE     SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE

Hi there Snuffles,

I just read the deck fix of a friend of mine (the catch the match deck), and

I thought I'd share with you my deck idea. When a new expansion comes out, I

like to pick one card that I think is interesting to create a deck around.

With the adventures at Hogwarts that card was Every Flavour beans. If used

right I think this card can be really cool.

Here's the idea:

Quidditch has some cards that let you reveal and arrange the top cards of

your deck ( Cleansweep seven and time out). So that's one way to go with the

every Flavour beans without cramming your deck with lessons, just make sure

that when you put the cards back, the top two cards are lessons and the

third card (the one you may draw with the beans) is a cards you can really

use. Next, if you are not in need of more lessons, but you still have a time

out or Cleansweep, there's Lee Jordan to make you get the top three card

witch you can make sure are all Quidditch cards. Lastly, because this deck

is build around the beans, it should get a lot of lessons out, this means

you can use some high cost cards like mid-air collision and out of control,

in combination with Quidditch Cup.

Here's the deck:

Hooch's sweet tooth

Starter:

Madam Rolanda Hooch

Lessons

Transfiguration x22

Characters:

Lee Jordan

Madam Pomfrey

Argus Filch (hate that 4 privet drive ;)

Spells:

Ever-Flavour Beans x4

Diffindo x3

Picking on Neville x3

Transfiguration Exam x2

Time Out x4

Cobbing x2

Loop-the-Loops x2

Bludger in the Stands x2

Mid-air collision x3

Out of Control x3

Items:

Quidditch Cup x2

Cleansweep Seven x2

Adventures:

In the Stands x3 (Riding the centaur is too easy to solve)

Some pointers on game-play:

Use hooch's ability when you have a every Flavour beans to search for

Cleansweep. Drop Cleansweep at the start of your turn if the first card you

drew was not a lesson (the broom only lets you see four cards, and the

change that you will not have two lessons with those four cards if you

already drew a lesson is pretty big). I use a pretty diverse array of spells

(Quidditch wise).

I haven't tested it with Filch, Pomfrey and Trans Exam yet.

I know it's not a killer deck, but it's fun to play with, and maybe you have

some good ideas to make it a bit better (it already works pretty decent

though), my main problem is with creatures, but I think you could guess that

already.

Greetz, Ruud (from Holland)

P.S. I can almost get any card I need, so feel free to add what you like!

Hey there!  Well you have found about the only good use I could imagine for Every Flavor Beans!  So congrats on that!  I didn't make too many changes here cuz your deck looked pretty solid already.  I play-tested this a few times and it can be really mean denial type stuff yo!  Plus its fairly fast in lesson advancement which surprised me.  I would like to see more recycling in this deck, but I couldn't figure out how to put it in without losing valuable spots.  Basically this deck combines some nice lesson advancement with good denial and damage.  You could count yourself lucky if you get the Beans combo off more than once, but it is still an effective early game jump.

SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE     SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE

Starter:  Duh!  Perfect fit to grab that combo Cleansweep and provides your Quidditch Lesson.

Characters:  Normally I would say that Lee Jordan should be taken out, but I found him very effective in this deck for some reason.  However, I swapped him out for Color Changing Ink because I found it more effective.  The choice is of course up to you.

Transfiguration:  The only real change I made here was that I changed out Transfiguration Exam for Scribblifors.  You may decide to switch back and that is fine, but not everyone is playing creatures and it is dangerous to focus your deck too much against them.  Plus, Scribblifors takes out any two creatures, albeit one goes back to their hand.  But overall, I found waiting for the ten spot with little to no advancement a little risky.  Up the Pickings to four and drop a Diffindo.

Quidditch:  I can not stress enough that with almost every Quidditch Deck, you must play Fouled!  Let me repeat that 3 times just so nobody else even thinks about sending me Quid decks without Fouled!  Or I could just yammer on and on about how you should almost always include Fouled! in your Quidditch Decks!  At any rate, except for the oversight of not including Fouled! this section is pretty solid.  I think you focussed a little too much on the combo with the Time Outs, but they do come in handy, so drop down to two of these.  Cobbing helps the Denial side of this deck and Loop the Loops are amazing!  I found that the Denial was fairly strong, so I opted for more damage rather than the Out of Controls because the 4 cards from hand tended not to pose a problem for my opponents.

Items:  Great Job!  The Cup makes this thing roll like a man playing knick knack on my thumb!  We swapped out Lee Jordan for Color Changing Ink.

Adventures:  You may want to consider Looking for Trevor as opposed to In the Stands.  If your denial is on, this will be much harder to solve and hit their game play much harder.  Overall, beware of McGonagall and yes, critters are your main threat.  I would play around with both of these and see which you like best.  Normally I would agree that In the Stands is better, but in a denial deck, Looking for Trevor seems to fit more.  Something to consider is that you could take out these 3 adventures period for more Scribblifors and Diffindo.  I would generally advise this as I like my decks to be effective against all decks, but you seemed to like the adventure, so we stuck with it.

Lessons:  This amount seems to work surprisingly well!  The beans really help you get the lessons you need.

Just a note here:

This deck is pretty solid, but malleable.  There are a lot of cards that could be opted instead of each other as I tried to point out through the mech.  Looking for Trevor could become another adventure or more denial cards.  Color Changing Ink can become Lee Jordan or more Quidditch Damage.  Feel free to play around with this a bit, but I think the format is pretty strong.  Like you said, not exactly a killer deck, but definitely fun to play.

Just another little note:  Red and Gold are Gryffindor Colors!!!!  I thought that was pretty cool lol.

Well I hope that helps!

Let me know how it fares!
