my strategy is to try to get rid of my opponents
lesson cards and do some damage while i'm at it.
I have not played very much yet.

adventures? They might be hard to find at first, but if you get any that
complement your deck, switch them in for something.
Creatures:

and Hound are wimpy. Focus on more Boas, Dragons, and Foxes.

You said your deck was based on lesson denial, so you need more cards that deny lessons. Lost notes are great for zapping lessons or items when needed. Steelclaws should almost always have 3-4 if included at all in creature/trans decks. Don’t need remembrall, and drop one HatS.
Lessons:
+2 Transfiguration
-8 Care of Magical Creatures
31 lessons is way too much space used on
lessons. Never go over 30 unless you got a gooood reason. Make it 10/15 for
Trans/CMC.
