On the Thames:

On the Thames is, hands down, the best of the Gate locations. It has what is probably the single most disruptive ability on any location in the game, and can be grabbed with a Clue on the last turn. It fits perfectly into almost every non-Elric deck. I have literally nothing bad to say about On the Thames except that I hate playing against it more than I hate playing against Spooky Shadows (and anyone who knows me in person should know just how much I hate Spooky Shadows.)

In limited, it is a great location. Play it unless you are playing Elric.

(PS, this review was brought to you with the total absence of the key between enter and ;, so please excuse my slightly more formal speech).

On The Thames 2 Clue Points

Battle: Strength/Wits
Goal: Wits +3
Alchemy events and abilities cannot be played.

"It seems in this world scientific discovery developed along a different track. Physics and machinery advanced instead of Alchemy" Hohenheim Elric

Hohenheim Elric quote week continues! So at this location, its my most hated Gate location. Its great, but if you haven't seen it before I play Elric, so yeah. This location should go into any deck that doesn't feature Alchemy, sure it sets up for an unpleasant encounter against a deck that focuses on the opposing attribute(Strength suffers against Wits and Wits vs Strength) however being able to have this as the last location against an Elric deck is great. Everything about this location is pretty straightforward as long as you understand how Gate locations work.

Overall I love and hate this card, if I'm playing my Elrics I just hope not to see it when its 7 points to 7 points .

Constructed 4/5 Very powerful location, don't play it if you're Elric though.
Sealed 4/5 Allows all you're characters to be useful as usually they have one stat that'll beat someone else's

darktaro

Today we look at On the Thames, the alchemy deck killer. Being Strength / Wits this location fits well into pretty much any non-alchemy build. Of course this card's greatest strength is it shuts down alchemy decks. Imagine playing a Clue for the Search to pull this location out as the last location against an Elric deck and watch them be helpless when they can't Change in Plans out of it. Even against non-alchemy decks it stops a couple of powerful 0 cost alchemy cards, Blood and Water, Badly Injured and Spoils of War to name a few. Defintely a great counter if you have heavy Elric in your meta.

Constructed: 4/5-In non alchemy centered decks.
1/5-In alchemy decks
Sealed:3/5-Gate locations are always a gamble in sealed. May be extremely effective, may be very harmful.
