Darktaro

This week we celebrate the great alchemist of the Full Metal Alchemist world and we start with Dante, Reclusive Herbalist. When Dante was first released she shook the game up as being the only level 1 leader with 8 command and 6/6/6 attributes. She has a very unique ability, being unaligned would normally mean you would have to pay a faction penalty for every ally with a faction, but she gains the factions of all allies in play so you'll only have to pay it once. Also with it's 6/6/6 stats for a level 1 leader was massive almost guaranteeing you the first 2-3 locations. Pre-errata she was a perfect main phase kill deck as with good enough luck you could drop Gluttony, Big Fist. Play 1-2 Challenge the Suns and pull it out and play it again and get a possible OTK.

It's been awhile since she has been released, is she still as powerful as she was back then? With the errata in affect she does have a harder time with main phase kill but she also has a bunch of new unaligned allies to start. One unique start is Outcast for some early game alchemy and a good cancel, Katherine Elle Armstrong to stop your opponent's Policeman and guarantee you the first 2 locations even more, and Bluebirds to stop mid-late game hand disruption. Dante still seems most powerful when she has her Sins in play, and with the addition of the Seven Deadly Sins advantage and her ability to have Artificial Human within playable reach, all her allies become more and more powerful. So yes she is defintely still if not more powerful then when she was released. She still suffers from the same weakness however, mid-late game she starts to lose a lot of steam and eventually you start to lose your ally power. So with Dante make sure you win early.

Constructed: 4/5-Don't lose steam and you can win very early.
