Scar's Brother, Ultimate Gift:

It seems like Scar's Brother always gets the short end of the stick.
His 11 cost isn't that great comparatively, his 7 cost is decent, but in a bad archetype for constructed, and he doesn't even have his own name.

Ultimate Gift is interesting in that, while it obviously isn't incredible in constructed, it does have some serious potential in any limited format. If you have a 6-command leader, you can play him at level 1 with any faction, and he has decent stats that include alchemy. While the effect itself is kind of weak, it has potential to be totally unexpected since you probably won't use it much.

Sacrificing allies seems to be a bit of a theme in Sacrifice (gee, I wonder why?) and if you sacrifice too many too often, your field will look pretty sad. Still, although weak for constructed, Scar's Brother, Ultimate Gift should be strong in limited, especially sealed. Good thing it's a common!

Ratings:
Constructed: 1.5/5
Sealed: 4/5
Speed Draft: 3.5/5 (again, more options are open in speed draft, so take better ones.)

This week's Sacrifice spoiler is Scar's Brother Ultimate Gift. He's a 5 cost Rebel/Human/Ishbalite with 3/3/5 attributes. His ability says when one of your allies would be defeated sacrifice an ally with same or higher cost. I'm still a little out on his ability. It seems to me if a low cost ally is about to be defeated you probably wouldn't care about saving him so much to give up another ally. For higher cost allies, it just seems so costly to sacrifice say an 8 cost to save a 7 cost.

However, at his core he is a cheap cost ally that can be dropped turn 1 with any 6 command leader. Depending on how many alchemy locations are flying around at the Pre-Release, you can expect to see him pop up if nothing else for his 4 alchemy.

Sealed:3/5-Low cost, decent alchemy
Constructed:2/5-He is a cheap version of Scar's Brother. That's about it though.
