Betrayal:
The hardest to play, and still most amazing card we review this week.
There really isn't much more to say about Betrayal than "it's really, really good, if you can play it." Seriously, if you have 6 wits in constructed, play it. It allows location control during the mainphase (Seven Deadly Sins) kills the three most powerful search phase advantages, at least in my opinion (Raw Firepower, A Hero's Passing, Fight on My Terms) without any tempo loss, and well, is just generally really good. A lot of people still play Pressure, which makes it a bit harder to get through, but Betrayal is definetly a worth while card in most decks.

In limited, Betrayal's a bit worse simply because good advantages are rarer, but it's still moderately playable.

The final card this week is one that destroys advantages, Betrayal. For a card that has a above average wits cost and one serves one function, why would it be better than a card like Bullseye which has 2 uses? For the current meta I play in that reason is Seven Deadly Sins. Especially for an Elric deck which focuses very heavily on location control, taking out SDS in the main phase is incredibly important. Another nice thing about it is since it's a wits attribute card, it can be searched out by a location many Homonculus players play Library Ruins. It's not without it's downside, it can't take your opponent by surprise like Bullseye can (Opponent assigns in thinking he can battle with Fight on My Terms and it gets destroyed first action) and like I mentioned earlier an above average cost of 6 wits.

Most decks nowadays will pack at least one advantage, but even so since Betrayal only has one use it can be a dead card without some Quick Wits on the field. All in all a good card, but some may opt for Bullseye over this.

Constructed: 3/5-Great to ensure location control in the main phase against SDS. Otherwise Bullseye may provide a better surprise factor.
Sealed:1/5-Not going to be a lot of advantages floating around in sealed.
lonedothacker Betrayal 6 Wits
Main Wits 6: Destroy target attachment.

Yup the end of destruction week, everything this week has destroyed somethig, hence destruction week. This card is the end to a trinity of cards to take down attachments and items. This card when originally released I wouldn't have rated very high, however after Fight on My Terms was released. That card is pure power in a can. Its kept some of my locations from being "I'm there I win" places to I have to fight for it, and risk character loss from defending in a stat I suck at w/o a battle changer or lots of pumps. That card alone is a reason to run Betrayal. Stack on top Seven Deadly Sins and Frozen and theres two more great reason. Alot of people at level 2, allies and leaders, have the 6 wits to throw down this card(minus rebels may have a hard time)

Overall: Potent these days

Constructed: 4/5 SDS/FoMT/Frozen nough said
Sealed: 2/5 You have alot less to worry about

Betrayal

6 Cost

Main Wits

Destroy target advantage.

I personally love the Main Phase. It’s so fun to mess with your opponent when all they can do is try to use counters. Now that every player worth their salt is playing at least one advantage each game this card is indispensable. Target it and destroy it and make your opponent a bit more irritated at you than they already were. The Main Phase is getting less and less powerful as this game proceeds so when a card is there and it works just play it. There really isn’t much else I can say here so on to the final call.

Final Call:

Constructed: 4/5

Like I said, the Main Phase rocks and it is where the best strategy still lays.

Limited: 4/5

In Draft or Sealed this card is great. Get at least a few decent Wits characters and you’re set.
