Darktaro

This week we are looking at some of the newest leaders fresh from Seven Deadly Sins! Today is Basque Grand, Army of One. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen some love for good ol’ Basque Grand. This is a new level 1 leader with 6 command and at 4/2/1 it has decent strength for a 6 command to win an early strength location. It has a great effect which effectively gives you 9 command for attachments. Obviously this card works best with Basque Grand, Tucker’s Patron as your level 2 leader.

Since this type of deck tends to run all high cost attachments, Army of One, provides a way to get some of them down from turn one. Even outside of Tucker’s Patron, it gives you more command for attachments than either his 7 or 8 command. I would say Army of One finally makes Basque Grand a viable leader, just make sure to pack a few repair jobs in there.

Pros:
-Has good strength attribute for a 6 command
-Let’s you run almost any attachment from turn one

Cons:
-Really needs Tucker’s Patron as a good follow up level 2 leader.

Sealed:1/5-Without the other Basque Grand leaders, he is useless.
Constructed:4/5-Good solid leader for Basque Grand.

Basque Grand, An Army of One.

Wow... First thing I see is a six-command alchemist with a 4 attribute. Next is the incredible ability, letting Basque drop down any huge attachment for nothing at all. AND he has the whole six command thing. xD

Then send off your Army of One to crush people. =D As a 4 STR military character, this Basque should make quick work of any fight he is involved in.

This Basque level one is just amazing.

I'll rate him 4.5/5.

Basque Grand is quite possibly the most sinister person on the FMA show. His reason's for being evil seem to be, simply the pleasure of being so. He was in on the whole Shadow storyline, meaning the pursuit of the philosopher's stone behind closed doors and using any means necessary.

This Basque Grand, rightfully named Army of One, is quite ridiculous. Its got a greatly overpowered 4 strength, low 2 wits, and a sad 1 alchemy. His effect is a bit ridiculous, but goes with Grand's attachment heavy theme. He can equip 9 cost attachments on turn 1. Which means a 1 discard Armstrong Family Gloves, giving him 7 strength at level 1. This card WILL see play, mark my words. The only clear downside to this card is the amount of discard hate that is constantly introduced into the meta. This set saw 2 rather good allies that destroy attachments, we already had Aflame, and the list will continue to grow as the sets go on.

In sealed, if you can somehow pull a level 2 Basque, it won't happen though, by all means play this guy. In constructed, there may as well not be any other level 1 Grands, this one is THAT good.

Sealed 1/5: Lack of a level 2 in this format limits him.
Constructed 5/5: You use Basque Grand? You use this guy.
