Roy Mustang, Fearsome Foe
9 Command Level 3
Human * Soldier * State Alchemist
5/7/7
Search Alchemy X: Target a character with X alchemy.
Reduce his strength to 0.

A chase exclusive from Blood and Water... so it's quite difficult to get.

The effect is almost like stone wall... except it only reduces the character's strength to 0. Still, with 7 alchemy, Roy can target this on almost any character on the field. This can be quite useful especially if you can defeat a huge character with a weaker one that you might have in the search party.

However, Roy decks are usually built for alchemy locations rather than strength ones. This makes the effect... not quite as useful during your locations.
Also, the stats aren't THAT great... the alchemy is high but the strength is quite low. There are just better choices for a level 3 Roy rather than this one.

Some other choices would be Master Manipulator (which is extremely rare) or Colonel. Most people have chosen to use Colonel since you can discard a card from your hand to gain experience each turn. You can essentially level up in 2-3 turns and have your level
4 out MUCH earlier than your opponent.

Rating: 2/5
Awesome looking card with an OK effect, but there are better choices out there.

Roy Mustang, Fearsome Foe

Roy with strength only stonewall built in. I like him. If your using a lot of strength locations why not play a leader that lets you make you opponent big fighters useless. So that's it if you play Roy/Strength you should probably be playing Fearsome Foe.

Roy Mustang, Fearsome Foe

What do we have here? Looks like an Xe card to me. I have stated this many times. Most Xe cards are only for show. Fearsome Foe's stats are not that good for a Lv3 and his effect is below average for a Lv3.since he is from the 2nd set, I guess leaders were not that powerful back then, but there are better Roy's out there. Stay away from this one, if you can get your hands on it that is.

Roy Mustang, Fearsome Foe

9 Command Military Faction

Human - Soldier - State Alchemist Level 3

5 Strength 7 Wits 7 Alchemy

"Search Alchemy X: Target a character with X alchemy. Reduce his strength to 0."

Stat Wise: Lower Strength and Wits than The Flame Alchemist and Colonel.
But, his Alchemy is the same as all of his other level 3 leaders.

Effect Wise: Ok, now for the reason you might actually want to play this card. His effect reduces a character's strength to 0 if they have as much or lower Alchemy than Roy. Which this Roy really needs because he's only got 5 Strength. Most characters that you would want to use this effect on will probably have 7 or lower Alchemy, so you shouldn't have a problem being able to use the effect. Plus it's a nice effect to have at locations where the Goal is Strength.

The Downside: Well, unless you're going to alot of Strength locations, I probably wouldn't use this Mustang. Why you ask? Because if your opponent gets the drop on you in battle and uses Test of Might against this Roy, then chances are that he'll lose the battle. Whereas The Flame Alchemist or Colonel would have a bit better of a chance to make it. Plus, if you run cards like Father Cornello's Chain Gun, it'll take even more Strength increasing attachments to be able to pull the effect of the gun off.

Final Word: Overall, this isn't a bad Level 3 Mustang. Being able to reduce someone's Strength to 0 is pretty suave. But if you want to play Roy's level 4, I'd switch to Colonel.

Roy Mustang, Fearsome Foe gets a 3.5 out of 5 from me.
