Roy Mustang, Duelist
7 Command Level 2
Human * Soldier * State Alchemist
4/4/6
Roy Mustang gets +1 to each attribute for each of your other state alchemist characters on the field.

Roy is probably one of my favorite characters from the anime so it's nice to see a whole week devoted to him :D

I personally like to use this level 2 since I don't like to play the Admin-Bloch lock.

With only 7 command... your options for recruiting allies a little more limited since you can't recruit those high cost allies like Veteran Alchemists or other 8 cost Military allies.

Even with that said... the effect of this level 2 is quite good. If you have Ed, Armstrong and Tucker on the field... that's +3 to everything making Roy 7/7/9.
Pretty impressive for a level 2 and it'll probably run over a LOT of other characters. With Hawkeye, Sharpshooter on the field... Roy is pretty well off.

Some people have made decks solely based on just this one level. By using cards like Absorption to stop your opponent from leveling up and A Clue for the Search and Blood and Water to gain advantage... they can take the game with just the level 2.

Overall... a pretty nice card with a great effect.

Rating: 4/5
Personally my choice for the level 2 and with the right deck build, you can support him.

Roy Mustang: Duelist
4.4.6

Roy Mustang is a very good leader. Asumming that a player already threw down 2 allies on lv1, that should have given him a +2attribute already. So he should be a 6.6.8 Easily on Lv2. There are not a lot of good state alchemist besides Ed researcher who must be players at Lv2. Shou is usable with his high stats, that is about all that comes to mind. Soldiers might be better than SA because there are more to choose from. Try to stick with Admin for a lv2 leader because they are more ally friendly.

Roy Mustang, Duelist
7 Command Military Faction
Human - Soldier - State Alchemist Level 2
4 Strength 4 Wits 6 Alchemy

"Roy Mustang gets +1 to each attribute for each of your other State Alchemist characters"

Stat Wise: Lower starting Wits and Strength than Administrator and Jaded Officer. Howver, this Mustang has the highest starting Alchemy of his level 2s.

Effect Wise: Well, the effect is pretty straight forward and it's one that easily makes this one of the best level 2 leaders for Mustang. All you need to do is play some State Alchemist allies and you're golden. You can play Edward Elric, Researcher; ALA, Strong and Beautiful; and Shou Tucker, Proctor. Then suddenly you've got a Mustang who is a 7/7/9. That's not to shabby for a level 2.

The Downside: Well, you need to play State Alchemist allies AND keep them alive. On top of this, there are really only 3 playable State Alchemist allies for this leader. I mean, sure there's also the Basque Grand ally, Veteran Alchemists, and State Alchemists, Dogs of the Military. But, all three of them are too high cost for this level 2 Mustang to play. Not even Roy Mustang, Administrator has the ability to play them.

Which brings me to my next point: 7 Command. If your opponent has ANYTHING that limits your command, then this Roy Mustang leader will be high and dry.
Without being able to play all of your 7 command, the only State Alchemists you can get on the field are Shou Tucker, Single Father and Edward Elric, Driven to Success.....and both of them aren't quite as useful as Proctor and Researcher.

The Last Word: Well, I have to say, I think this is the best level 2 for Roy Mustang (if you're looking for attack power). If you're looking for some Command control and extra strategy, stick with Administrator. And while the Command issue bites, it's to be expected for decent stats and a really good effect.

I give Roy Mustang, Duelist a 4 out of 5.

Roy Mustang, Duelist

Well here's a week I like. Roy is a 4/4/6 that gets +1 to each attribute for every other state alchemist you control. Sadly with
7 command that means you have ed, ala and Shou. Still with just one in play he can do Nighttime and Sensei's Shadow. If only he had the much needed 8 command you would be all set for a Duelist deck. Still he's strong enough to be played if that's what you want.

3.2/5
