Battle Wits 5: Target Soldier character gets +2 to one attribute.
Soldier-Human-State Alchemist-Hero

I think that this card is pretty solid, either this or sarcastic is my favorite roy ally, I think this one because it is a hero though. Anyway, because this one being a hero, this guy is really good in Elric, even though he is military faction, he can be used with Tim Marcoh - Soldier with a concience and Roy becomes Elric, anyway, one card that is really underestimated is Hero's Passing, ya know, the card that is came with an entry in the prerelease? Anyway, let's just look at the heros in Elric faction, Roy Mustang (daring gambler), Tim Marcoh, Edward Elric, Izumi Curtis, Russel Tringham (Idealist), Fletcher Tringham (Young Alchemist), Maes Hughes (Mentor), Alex Louis Armstrong (Overbearing Bodyguard), Alphonse Elric, and The Elric Brothers, I know, the brothers are Ed and Al, but I think they are going to make 3 or 4 different level Brothers so then you could run Al and Ed as allys, and look at all of those, 10 allys, have like Elric Brothers and yould have out any of those that you wanted, all except 1. . .

In Elric - 2.5/5

Battle Wits 5: Target soldier character gets +2 to one attribute.

Todays last card is haunted past. With a decent effect his stats are a little on the low end. He is a hero so for all you hero passing decks it's great. I personally love the effect but as for Roy's go it's a hard choice.
Sarcastic is pretty good with it's send home ability and there even a Roy that resets after attacking a character with 4 cost or less. All in all it's not that bad of a card with an effect that you dont have to EE for as long as you have Hakuro for.

Overall 3.5/5

The Frost Alchemist

Roy Mustang, Haunted Past
5 Cost--Military Faction
Human*Soldier*State Alchemist*Hero
2 Strength--4 Wits--3 Alchemy
"Battle Wits 5: Target soldier character gets +2 to one attribute."

The Rundown: Unlike almost all of the other Mustang allies, this ally isn't very good with Alchemy. Instead, he does decently with Wits. However, his effect is more useful than most of the Mustang allies out there (effect wise). And for his effect, he can even target himself with it. All you need to get it off the ground is to have Hakuro, General in play and you're golden.

The Downside: Yet another character that has a big bull's-eye painted on him. Players are usually anxious to get rid of those pesky allies that help out other characters. This one is no exception to that. His stats are also really low, so he can be crushed easily unless you have a defense for him.
And after you use his effect, he turns into a sitting duck. He's definitely not someone you want to send to a Strength battle unless you get to attack first. And let's not forget that his effect only helps out a soldier character. Sorry Shou Tucker and Edward Elric, this Mustang isn't going to help you. He's also a Hero this time around, so you can't recruit him if you're running Basque Grand as your leader.

Final Word: He's not the greatest Mustang ally, but like I said, definitely better than most of the other ones (effect wise). If you're running alot of State Alchemists, I would go with Benefactor. Otherwise, I'd probably go with this Mustang or Sarcastic.

I give Roy Mustang, Haunted Past a 3 out of 5
