The Frost Alchemist

Roy Mustang, Master Manipulator
10 Command--Military Faction
Human*Soldier*State Alchemist
4 Strength--5 Wits--7 Alchemy
Level 3

"Main Alchemy 10: Exchange the current location and one location in your victory pile."

The Rundown: Well this is it. This is the card that was the most feared for
the first 2 sets and is still revered as one of the best cards in the game
to date. The Strength and Wits are slightly below par for a level 3, but the
effect is worth it. Switch the current location with a location in your
victory pile. That is quite powerful. This is one of the only cards in the
game that you can win during the Main Phase with.

The Downside: Seems like there's always one, doesn't it? Well, this card is
no exception. His stats are fairly low. You're definitely not going to a
Strength battle with him. And while his ability is very powerful, you will
usually need to Equivalent Exchange at least 1 card in order to use the
ability. And that's if you have State Alchemist's Watch or Alchemist's
Gloves attached to him. Without either of those, you'll have to Equivalent
Exchange 3 cards to use this ability. That's pretty steep. You'd better pack
a few The Armstrong Techniques in the deck or make sure you can draw Lyra's
Pendant. In addition, there are several more cards that counter location
manipulation now than there were back when the first set came out. All your
opponent needs is to have Inspector, Citizen of Aquroya or Alex Louis
Armstrong, Expert Envoy in play to keep you from doing what this leader does
best.

Final Word: Even with the downside, this is still one of the best leaders in
the game. If you play a Roy Mustang deck, then there is no reason not to run
this as your level 3 (unless you can't get your hands on one like most of
us). If you can't get your hands on a Master Manipulator, then try running
with Colonel so you can try to get to level 3 faster.

I give Roy Mustang, Master Manipulator a 4.5 out of 5

Humna-Soldier-State Alchemist

Okay, I really think that this is one of those cards that shouldn't have been at CoTD because everyone knows that it is one of those cards that is completely sick and shouldn't have been made, Roy is my favorite character but I think that this card is way too good, so you might have to pitch three cards to get a location, use something like Belsio's plantation, BOOM, by that time, when your on lvl 3, you should have probably gotten enough locations to just be 2 or 3 points away from the win, and, just take out something like a youswell inn for a dueling grounds/industrial area/central library, first branch, and more than likely it's game.
