Character Bios: Riza Hawkeye

Incapable of using alchemy, but an extremely able marksperson. She is the lieutenant that works as Roy Mustang's right hand man.

Riza Hawkeye is the most trusted in Mustang's circle of friends, his right-hand (wo)man, so to speak. She is not a state alchemist. At the time of her introduction in the anime, Hawkeye held the rank of Second Lieutenant, and was stationed at Central, but like Mustang was promoted one rank and reassigned to the Eastern Territories early in the series. In her own words, Hawkeye has joined the military because "there is someone I need to protect" (referring to Roy Mustang). Hawkeye serves as Mustang's voice of reason, remaining cool and collected in sticky situations, constantly looking out for Mustang's well being, but also occasionally scolding him for his good-natured posturing and arrogance. While always very disciplined and serious, she harbors an unspoken affection for Mustang. She is a crack shot with a sniper's aim, usually carrying two guns with her at all times. She also appears to have a soft spot for the Elric Brothers. Her dog-training methods with her dog, Black Hayate, are an example of her no-nonsense ways, and also demonstrates her accurate aim with a gun. -divinedragonking
