Character Bios: Gluttony

Another homunculus with an insatiable appetite. He has some sort of ability that allows him to eat almost anything in existence.

In the anime, he is old enough to have been familiar to Greed but young enough that he doesn't recognize Hohenheim. He also is physically very strong, with agility disproportionate to his size. Little is known of his past, though Dante said that Gluttony was created solely to make a Philosopher's Stone from those he consumed. After learning that Lust died, Gluttony is traumatized, and tired of hearing him cry over the fallen Lust, Dante transmutes Gluttony to a mindless monster, by removing the ouroboros mark from his tongue, and is now devoted only to his boundless appetite, making eating Al to ensure the perfection of the Philosopher's Stone in his stomach that much simpler. But Gluttony fell victim to Al's alchemy, and his lower jaw dissolved. In the series he was last seen trying to devour his master as she made a last-ditch effort to destroy her crazed creation, but Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa shows he survived Dante's alchemy attacks and had lived in the underground city ever since. For unexplained reasons he underwent a massive physical transformation while living underground, becoming an enormous, hideous beast with large jaws (his head had at first appeared unchanged, only a different eye color, until he sprung into action and attacked Wrath), enormous arms which he used as support for walking (seeing as how his legs had apparently not changed at all) and many tendrils/heads sprouting from his back. Apparently, this form had resulted from Dante's alchemy affecting the Red stones in Gluttony's body. Gluttony tried to eat Wrath when he and Al entered the city to open a physical Gate to the other world, but was eventually destroyed when Wrath sacrificed himself and Gluttony to open the portal.
