This card’s activation and effect cannot be negated. If you control a monster whose original name is “Obelisk the Tormentor”: Negate the effects of 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls, and if you do, destroy it, and if you do that, for the rest of this turn, the effects of that monster are negated, as well as the activated effects and effects on the field of monsters with the same original name, then, if you activated this card during your Main Phase, you can apply this effect. ● Destroy all Spells and Traps your opponent controls. You can only activate 1 “Fist of Fate” per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Fist of Fate is Obelisk’s attack from the show and today’s card we’ll be looking at.

Much like yesterday’s card it is Spell Speed 4 and a Quick-Play, off to a great start. Effect negation and destruction of a monster doesn’t have the same kind of monster destruction power that Thunderforce Attack has, but it can do a Harpies Feather Duster to your opponent. The effect negation works on one monster, and all copies of that monster for the turn, handy if you run into multiple copies, but that doesn’t happen too often, but at least it negates and destroys the first monster you negate. Fist of Fate is an easier card to have a blow-off and board-wipe than Thunderforce because you can simply chain it once your opponent sets at least one spell/trap and they won’t normally be able to activate it. Not needing to wait in response to your opponents moves is another plus this card has, but like yesterday it does suffer from needing the original god card on the field and not an impostor.

Great spell/trap destruction card for a god deck, but is Obelisk’s card and only his card. On the plus side, it doesn’t lock your monsters out of attacking, it is ALL spell/trap your opponent has and not just face-up, and doesn’t care where the cards are going: Kaiba gets the better of Yugi in support this time.

From Slifer to Obelisk we go from Thunderforce Attack to Fist of Fate.

Fist of Fate is a Quick-Play Spell that also cannot be negated. This time you must control Obelisk the Tormentor for this card’s effects where you get to negate the effects of an Effect Monster the opponent controls and then destroy it, and then that monster’s effects are still negated alongside all monsters with the same original name on the field, then using this during your Main Phase lets you wipe the opponent’s backrow. For Slifer to get a board wipe and massive draw power, I’d say Obelisk got the short end of the stick. I get no drawing since Obelisk doesn’t need it for attack power. The effect sounds nice if it was generic and not attached to you controlling a monster you need 3 tributes for. You can at least get a Harpie’s Feather Duster if you use this in the Main Phase. Hard once per turn on all this as well. The card is okay on paper, but the main problem is similar to yesterday where this is attached to Obelisk the Tormentor instead of being a generic card. I wouldn’t call this too necessary if you’re trying to run an Obelisk-themed Deck, which might be the hardest to do considering we didn’t get support to specifically help an Obelisk Deck like we did Slifer and Ra.

Holy hell, yesterday we had a card overly nerfed.  Today we have a card that’s easily as bad, if not worse, and with an insane amount of text.  So let’s try to be concise here.  Activation and Effect can’t be negated, like yesterday, and I’ll still give props for that.  Today, controlling Obelisk lets you negate the Effect(s) of ONE opponent’s Monster (fine) and destroy it if you do (good) said Effects are negated for the rest of the Turn (good but if the card left the Field, so did its Effects unless otherwise specified) which blankets into any of the same named Monster (assuming your opponent has/had multiples on the Field) and you can destroy all your opponent’s Magic/Traps if you used this during your Main Phase.  Did you keep up with that?  How many hoops was that to go through?  Let’s count…1, 2, 3, 4 like YIKES this thing is terrible.  This, unlike yesterday which you could potentially Turbo Draw off is nowhere near as good, even in potential.  Being forced into your Main Phase use for optimal Card Effect here, again, wastes this card, as it would be better used about any other time in your Turn (or your opponent’s, it’s still Quickplay).  New support is fun, but this belongs in the trash.
