Throwback Thursday this time brings us to an old Fire Formation, and probably the undisputed best one, Fire Formation – Tenki.

Tenki is a Continuous Spell that upon activation searches for any Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior out the deck. It’s RotA for Beast-Warriors, so no surprise it was limited at one point, but with the Beast-Warrior pool being smaller than the Warrior pool, it’s now at three. An advantage over RotA is that this is searchable off cards like Rooster, Tiger King, Bear, Gorilla, etc. which is good to have a searcher for a searcher. Sure it sucks that after you activate it, it’ll sit there (which will matter more for Beast-Warrior decks that aren’t Fire Fists unless you throw in a Bear or Gorilla), but the search is worth it in most to all Beast-Warrior decks, and as you could tell already you weren’t restricted to FIRE Beast-Warriors, which makes this far better.

While Tenki is sitting there, it boosts all your Beast-Warriors by 100 ATK and while the boost is miniscule, at least it’s better than just sitting there and doing nothing outside Fire Fists being used. You can only activate 1 Fire Formation – Tenki per turn, which is fine as that’s a restriction that would of made RotA more balanced. Tenki is a near staple in most to all Beast-Warrior decks, it’ll just feel bad if the deck relies on backrow more and you don’t have a Fire Fist to get rid of this thing after you use it.

Art: 4.5/5 The effect alone warranted this being a Secret Rare, but the art is good enough to make it look nice (still shocked it was a Common in Cosmo Blazer).

Fire Formation-Tenki, is our Throwback Thursday card this week.  It received one prior review (Link here)

in 2013, ranking in the top half of our Top 10 from Cosmo Blazer list at the time.  This is a Continuous Magic card, and a rather simple one at that.  This is, essentially, a theme specific (even though it states Beast-Warrior as opposed to ‘Fire Fist’ specifically) Reinforcements of the Army.  It’s easier to search and retrieve this card than the aforementioned RotA, which makes it all the better in the Deck too.

All your Beast Warriors gain 100 attack for each one you control, which is so paltry, it actually makes me laugh, but it’s still SOMETHING, I suppose.  You can only activate one of these a turn.  This one I understand, but I don’t feel pulling resources like that is enough for that, but that could be my RotA mind going.  This is great in and out of Fire-Fist, and the more Beast-Warriors you play, the more of these you should.

Rating:  4.5/5

Art:  5/5  This is a cool one for sure, and I like the fire, plain and simple fire as it may be here.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Fire Formation – Tenki is the Throwback Thursday choice and has been a great piece of generic support for Beast-Warrior types for years.

RoTA for Beast-Warrior players and a small 100ATK boost. ATK boost means nothing, the search is everything. LunaLight, Gladiator Beast, Fire Fists, and several other decks tech this in and use it as their main serach card. MST isn’t played as much anymore, and no one is going to burn a Twin Twister on one card (if you play it with nothing else in your s/t zone). Not much else to say about this card, other than it does what it is supposed to do and has gotten better as certain cards lose their playability. You can run 3 of it and if you can pop spell/traps and gain advantage like Fire Fists can by doing so, then Tenki serves more than just a search purpose to you.
