Hello Pojo Fans,

Evil Twin’s Trouble Sunny start off our week and are presumed to be the rivals of the other Evil Twin girls we’ve reviewed on this page.

Link 4, 3300ATK make it a huge monster. The arrows on the sides and down help for giving Link Monsters more options. Needs at least an “Evil★Twin” monster and another one to make the four at the very least. While they may be “rivals” using the original two Link Monsters of the Evil Twin archetype: Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la make the most sense. The two meet the requirements for this Link Summon and are tied into the effect of Trouble Sunny.

The only reason you’d tribute the highest ATK of all Link 4 monsters would be to avoid a targeting effect or because you are going for an OTK. Quick Effect to trade Trouble Sunny for Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la from your grave would total 5500 damage if done directly, that’s bordering on OTK.

Banishing Sunny and having to send 1 “Evil★Twin” monster from your hand, Deck, or face-up field to the GY just to spot removal a card isn’t a bad effect. You could do this immediately after tributing Sunny for your summons of Ki-sikil and Lil-la, but also you could send Evil★Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la from your deck or hand to the grave. Evil★Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la needs two Link Monsters to be tributed to summon itself, and if you have the appropriate Main Deck monsters in the grave (which you should because they are used to summon the Link Monsters you used to summon Sunny) you will have a 4400ATK monster after trading out your Link Monsters

That was a lot to say, so TLDR: Trouble Sunny is a strong ATK Link 4 that gives more synergy to the Evil★Twin archetype despite the lore. She doesn’t take the strategy in a different direction, she adds power to the Extra Deck for them and gives you a direct way of using Evil★Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la that works with the Link Monsters.

Finally starting the BODE cards and since we already hit the best cards of the set with the Top 10, we’ll go straight to archetype support and the boss monster for the Evil Twin archetype: Evil Twin’s Trouble Sunny.

Trouble Sunny is a Link-4 LIGHT Fiend with 3300 ATK and arrows pointing Up, Down, Left, and Right. Great ATK overall, LIGHT and Fiend are well supported, and arrows are solid on a Link-4. Summoning requirements are any 2+ monsters, including an Evil Twin monster, basically being generic as long as you’re playing the archetype it’s meant for. First effect is a Quick Effect to tribute herself to revive a Ki-sikil and a Lil-la monster from your graveyard, which is nice to do on the opponent’s turn to get a pop and a draw with the Link-2 Evil Twins, which is mainly what you’ll revive off this since it’s easy to make a Link-4 with the Evil Twins. Second effect banishes this card from the grave to send an Evil Twin from the hand, Deck, or face-up field to the graveyard to send a card on the field to the grave. It gives us a reason at least to run Ki-sikil & Lil-la in the Main Deck more often so you can send that from Deck off this for some quick removal, but you can also just send one of your Links on field for the removal so the other one can just revive what you sent. Each effect is a hard once per turn for balance, which is fine. It’s a good card for the archetype to give them a slight boost. It isn’t crazy, but it’s worth running 3 in the Extra Deck in a more pure Evil Twin Deck.

This week covers some archetypal support introduced in Burst of Destiny, starting with a major playmaker for one of my own decks! Evil Twins’ Trouble Sunny is a link 4 LIGHT fiend link monster, with a fairly standard set of up, left, down, and right arrows. It requires two or more monsters, at least one of which must be an Evil Twin monster, so summoning it won’t be very easy outside of Evil Twin decks, but it is incredibly easy to summon in its own archetype, as their bread and butter combo can make a link 4 fiend in one card. 3300 attack is exceptionally high for a link monster in general, and even among link 4s, it edges out most of its peers, which typically only have 3000 or less attack, so at the very least Trouble Sunny gives Evil Twins some much-needed offensive power.

Both effects are hard once per turn, though it’s unlikely that you’ll field more than one Trouble Sunny at once unless you’re pushing for the OTK, at which point you’ll only need to use the effects of one of them anyway. On a quick effect, you can tribute Trouble Sunny to special summon a Ki-sikil and a Lil-la monster from your graveyard. As you may remember, Evil Twin Ki-sikil and Evil Twin Lil-la draw a card and destroy a card on the field respectively when summoned alongside their respective twin, and 9 times out of 10 you’ll use them to summon Trouble Sunny anyway. The effect is also useful on your own turn to squeeze in another two attacks with Ki-sikil and Lil-la; 2200 more damage can make a big difference when you’re pushing for lethal. Trouble Sunny’s other effect is equally powerful; by banishing it from your graveyard, you can send one Evil Twin from your field or deck to the graveyard and send one card on the field to the graveyard. Sending is one of the most powerful removals in the game, bypassing almost every protection sans unaffected monsters. While giving up an Evil Twin on the field is a bit of a tall order, you can also use the formerly mediocre Evil Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la from your deck, facilitating their summon in the process. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t fix the deck’s crippling locks, and it still doesn’t have protection itself, which isn’t always necessary for a boss monster but it would be helpful for a more frail archetype like Evil Twins. Overall, Evil Twins’ Trouble Sunny gives the Evil Twin archetype a competent boss, powerful disruption, and versatile removal all in one, boosting them from being rather mediocre to quite competent.

Art: 4.5/5 I like the fact that Sunny advertises herself in Sunny’s Snitch as being taller than the half-pint she really is; the cameos in the billboards are also cute references.

Alex is late for Monday, but is doing the whole week, so I’ll be on time later…Evil Twin’s Trouble Sunny kicks things off this week.  What a way to start, as this Link Monster has 3300 attack points, is another for the ever growing Light/Fiend card pool, and is Link 4 with Arrows pointing directly above and below, as well as directly left and right.  Link Summon requires 2+ Monsters; including an Evil Twin.  Tributing this card nets you two others to the Field, specifically, a Ki-sikil and Li-lal Monster, so long as they come from your Graveyard…possibly the cards you used to make this even?  2-for-1 is always good, and that is a +1 in Field Presence in your favor at the very least.  There’s nothing not to like about that.  Nice synergy there too.  Removing this card from your Grave from play, and sending an Evil Twin from your Hand/Deck/Face-up Field to your Grave lets you destroy a card on the Field.  Fun, and that’s any card, any position, belonging to either player.  That’s a 2-for-1 not in your favor, resulting in -1, at least initially.  The removal probably would’ve been enough, as this is a Once per Turn, so you couldn’t abuse it anyway in that same Turn.  She’s a beater, the Effects, despite Once per Turn aren’t limited to only be able to be used once (period) so that’s a plus.  Solid card to kick off the week
