What’s Up, Pojo browsers? Here’s Nimbly back with one of my Tournament reports of craziness, here at Rainy Day Games.

Ok, it’s the week after the 5 Civilization, and if you read my other report, you all know I bombed it. That tournament made me take some serious consideration on what I should use in my deck for an update. I did make some changes, but nothing really away from the original idea, but more on that later.

This day was gonna start off great. Today was the first day of the Pokemon League that we are starting here, finally. It’s been about 3 some-aught years ever since I had to go around, having my book constantly stamped and trying to collect each pin and sticker and other assorted k-rap that they gave out. Good times…, anyway, I earned the most points and got a POP pack #1, so that was cool. Looks like I’m getting a badge/pin next week :)

Well, besides that, I really didn’t have much time to trade, the pokemon took over most of my morning. So I was off pokemon and into Duel Masters in a couple of minutes. Here’s the deck for today.

Yea, I changed up the deck a bit. First of all, the name. I’m horrible at making a name for a deck, (the last one… “shadow Flame”…0,0). Anyway, I switched up the name to “Blazing Aurora” for the fact now that this deck has some Holy Awe-ness to it now. Let me give you the rational for this

Tornado Flame sucks. Yea, sure, red really has nothing better, except searing wave which pwns. I figure, why pay 5 for a card that is limited to what it can kill when I can pay 1 more for a card that alters and can potentially win the game for me.

Also, as everyone probably knows by know, there a lot of A-A’s (Alcadeias-Abusers) out there. They constitute about half of my tourny’s meta, which is a shame, so holy awe will help with stopping a swarm of blockers that could have helped me last week. I think that this shift in my deck will probably be for the better, but who really knows, cause I sure as hell don’t…

Well, now’s the time to find out if those Holy Awes help this deck. Round 1 is off and running, better hold on to your chairs…

Round 1-Nimbly vs. Montana L. (3 color survivor deck-slayer/unblockability/mana)

Yes, I was facing Montana, last week’s winner of the 5 Civilization 14 and under division. He was trying a new deck, though, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

Game 1- This game was pretty close. I didn’t really get out monsters fast as I normally do, but I did get out some humans and a Valdios eventually. He had his swarm of survivors, namely Smash Horn Q and Spikestrike Ichtys Q. Those things are annoying. Anyway, it came down to a valdios and his blocker protecting his shieldless-self. I smoked the blocker and got the W.

Game 2- This game was closer. He had his swarm of monsters and I had mine, but he had the strength over mine. He was ready to hit me with his swarm of attackers, which included 2 spikestrikes and a Bladerush Skyterror Q. Double Breaker unblockables…holy crap. I thought it was it. He had 7 attackers, and my blockers had no point to do anything. First 2 shields he hit, I got a terror pit, and killed a spike strike. Yay. Next 2 shields…are you sitting down?...2 more terror Pits??!!! Everyone was flipping out and Montana couldn’t believe it. I killed another Spike and my blockers took care of the rest of the attackers. My 2 humans finished him the next turn.

Shields-(0-0)-Winner-Nimbly

That was amazing. I’ve never had 3 terror pits in my shields before…and actually got to use them. It happened twice before today. One time I had no shields broken and the other I got A-A’d, so yeah, that was interesting. Round 2 is ready to go.

Round 2- Nimbly vs. Grant S. (mono-blue unblockable deck)

The last time him was about a month ago. I got him some crystal memories to help him out, so I remember him, and his deck pretty well.

Game 1- This one was really a rush by definition. I got out some quick stuff fast and he did bust out some good blockers, namely Angler-Freakin’-Cluster, but I had some critical blades and death smokes to take care of them, so not much did happen here. He did get a crystal lancer, but it died pretty fast.

Shields-(3-0)-Winner-Nimbly

Game 2- This one was better for Grant. He got out good blockers almost every turn, and that put me on hold for a while. He got out that crystal lancer and that really screwed with me. He had a blocker, only 1, with the lancer, and his shields broke a critical blade. Niceness, since I wailing shadowed the guy later. I got out a valdios and that kinda messed with him. Turns out the whole time I hit shields, I was afraid of a card that he never even had, Spiral Gate.

Shields-(2-0)-Winner-Nimbly

That was alright for me. Angler Cluster must be the most annoying, yet broken blockers in the game. 3 for 6000…amazing. I got in some play testing of a Yu-Gi-Oh deck I’ve been playing around with. My friend Shane got smacked up pretty bad. Ooh, Blade knight has 2000 attack…too bad, 1000 defense. That deck Pwns up like crazy. Round 3 was up while I was in the middle of a game, so I was in a rush.

Game 3- Nimbly vs. Anthony J. (mono-blue-no real theme *may have had some darkness, but I’m not sure…)

By the time we got to the 3rd round, there were only 3 undefeated people, so I got paired down. Yay, me.

Game 1- This game was quick. He got out nothing that he really could play significantly. I had the rush going and he saw it. To make things short, I got him with a couple of Deadly Fighters. I kinda felt bad about this match.

Shields-(5-0)-Winner-Nimbly

Game 2- This one was better for him. He got out the good blockers out faster, then began his bouncing, which was not cool. He was doing fairly well until I got out a Valdios and started beating up his monsters. He had some blockers, but a played a holy awe and hit him in one turn with 5 attackers, one being Valdios. He did do much better this time.

Shields-(2-0)-Winner-Nimbly

That was great since I’m going to the finals, but I kinda felt bad for Anthony, but he was cool about it. The other undefeated match was Shane against Justin F., and I got to see an A-A wail up on a red-black, relative copy of my deck prior to the new splash-ness. So the finals is me against an A-A. that’s fine. This is my chance to put these holy awes to the test.

Round 4-The Finals!-Nimbly vs. Justin F. (Alcadeias/ Blockade Deck)

Game 1- This one I tried to end quick, as I got to first. He got out the quick blockers and that was irritating. He eventually got out an Alcadeias. I was still attacking, until he got out a la Byle. God, I hate that thing…. I just kept putting out attackers, since he wasn’t making a move. I drew a holy Awe, but I only had five mana, one already a light, So I had to wait a turn. I was hoping for a blank on his draw. He drew…a glory snow. I played the holy awe, and hoped for no holy awe in the shields. He had none, and the win was mine.

Shields-(2-0)-Winner-Nimbly

Game 2- This one looks like the first one. Only I didn’t get the fast monsters or the early holy awe for the light mana. He also had trouble, as he never played Alcadeias. He had a mass swarm of blockers, and I had a mass swarm of attackers. He had 2 la byles, my new enemy. This became a drawing contest for a holy awe, only I needed 2. I drew one and put it in the mana. We kept exchanging blows, I critical bladed some things and he nailed some of my darkness monsters with an Aeris. I drew a Holy awe, finally, and man, was I relieved. I played it, and now had to go with the shields, in prayer that there was no Holy awe in there. There wasn’t any, and the win goes to me again. For fun, he flips over the next 2 cards he had. 2 holy awes….

Shields-(1-0)-Winner-Nimbly

I got this tournament, this time. Thus, Holy Awe works here, so much better than a crappy “tornado Flame” could ever do. I think I might keep it this way for a while, until all of the people who imitated my red/black start doing the same thing. The winner today got 2 packs, the new promos, Gigakail and Nocturnal Giant, and a McD promo, the last pick however. I got a sinister General Damudo out of the packs, and a Toel out of the promos, one I need for my 4 copies of the McD promos.

Ok, time for the props and slops

PrOpS

- Winning the tourney, (1 week to late however)

- Pokemon League coming back. Man, I really miss those days…

- Getting a Sinister General Damudo. Could have done worse. Could have got nothing. I’m grateful

- Getting a Syrius from a friend.

- Play testing my position switch deck some more

sLoPs

- Angler Cluster. (this has been kind of a tradition. There’s always one annoying card in each of my reports.)

- This being the last DM tournament I’m gonna play in a while. Next week is the Flaming Eternity Release. I hope it’s on Sunday, or else I gotta miss a lot of stuff to go.

-That’s really it.
