Official WOTC Ruling. Pojo forwarded this email to the guys at wizards of the coast. Maybe you can learn from their answer. ;-) -----Original Message----- From: Matt D Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 10:30 PM Subject: Complex ruling on Mongrel Man With the release of the tin and upcoming set some rules need to be addressed. Last week in a tournament when a problem arose. I had a mongrel man on the field then I played vampire silphy there were four other creatures on the field. My oppenent and I could'nt agree if I got to draw card or not so we asked the judge. The question had never come up so he looked up stuff on the duelmaster website. He couldn't find the specific ruling but found simmilar ruling on card that affect more than one card. When you atk with a dbl breaker you don't break one then another one after your opponent picks it up. You break the second shield even if your attacking creature leaves the field. Also another example if an evolution card leaves the field you choose which order the cards leave the field (like if corile was used on it). So from that he determined that when you play silphy players choose what order thier creatures go to the graveyard. So you would choose to send mongrel man last thus you would get the effect from the other creatures being destroyed. JackVipe -----Original Message----- From: Warner, Steve Subject: RE: Complex ruling Yes, The effect will trigger off the mongrel man even though he is going to die too. So the mongrel man will trigger for each effect. (This is the "bag of marbles" effect that R&D was telling me about, basically each effect is a marble put in a bag. Active player deals with all of their effects one at a time, then the other player deals with all of theirs. Thus all the creatures would go to the grave, then the player with mongrel man would draw cards. Thanks. Steve Customer Service Department Wizards of the Coast
