EVO: Crushinators of Doom-The Complete Guide - by Exploding Pidgeons

Hey everyone, well, this Article took a lot of elbow grease, a lot of time staring madly at the

computer, and a lot of time double-checking Pojo's Spoiler. :\ So anyway, I dont claim to be

an "expert",  but I think this will give you a very good idea of what EVO cards will help you,

and which ones will just get in your way.

Basically what this guide is is an analysis of every card in EVO, although the analysis is brief,

it comes to the point and is usually very concise.

So without further adieu, here it is:

***EVO: CRUSHINATORS OF DOOM***

Here's the key to the card text:

NAME OF THE CARD

Ratings:

1 = Useless!

2 = Piece of junk

3 = BAD

4 = Pretty bad

5 = Eh.

6 = Mediocre.

7 = Solid.

9 = Amazing.

10 = Broken.

Got it? Good! Then let's start.

LADIA BALE, THE INSPIRATIONAL

Light

Evolution Creature/Guardian/6/9500

- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
- Evolution - Put on one of your Guardians.
- Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
S1/S5 (Super Rare)

Analysis

---------

Well, there are a lot of Guardians in Duel Masters, so it shouldn't be too hard to fit Ladia Bale

into a Light deck. The fact that it has 9500 power trumps Gran Gure by 500, PLUS he can attack

and he has Double Breaker. Of course, the fact that he's an Evolution does hurt him a bit,

since it means he's pretty slow. Overall, he's an amazing Creature IF you can get him out and

if he's not Terror Pit'd the instant he hits the board.

RATING: 8/10

******************

CRYSTAL PALADIN
Water

Evolution Creature/Liquid People/4/5000
- Evolution - Put on one of your Liquid People.
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, return all creatures in the battle zone that have

"blocker" to their owners' hands.
S2/S5 (Super Rare)

Analysis

---------

*sigh* Another anti-Blocker card. Never saw the big deal with these cards, but okay.... Liquid People

usually arent very good, so the fact that he has to Evolve from a Liquid Person hurts him.

What it boils down to, is if you're playing Liquid People (a LOT of Liquid People), then Crystal Lancer (15/55)

is a MUCH better choice. Not only does Lancer have 3000 more Power, but he's just a much better card.

Y'know, the Blue Super Rares tend to be disappointing......Didnt like Aqua Sniper that much either.

RATING: 5/10

*******************

ULTRACIDE WORM
Dark

Evolution Creature/Parasite Worm/6/11000

- Evolution - Put on one of your Parasite Worms.
- Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
S3/S5 (Super Rare)

Analysis

---------

Well, it's hard to think of some good Parasite Worms you could Evolve this guy from, but

WHO CARES! 11000 Power is currently the biggest thing in the game, tack that onto Double

Breaker and you have a VERY deadly Creature. Unfortunately, there's no stopping him from

being Spiral Gate'd (or some other nasty Spell) into infinity, and then all of your hard work is gone.

A good strategy for a Dark deck with Ultracide Worm is, to deplete their hand completely with

cards like Dark Titan Maginn, Horrid Worm, or perhaps the old standby Ghost Touch.......

Then bring out Ultracide Worm and start destroying stuff. (Horrid Worm helps ESPECIALLY

well in this case, since he's a Parasite Worm you can use to Evolve from) With hardly any resources

available to get rid of that pesky Ultracide Worm, unless they're running a very fast Water Deck

(with lots of card-drawing), you've basically got the game won.

Overall it's no doubt a very powerful card, but sometimes power isn't everything.

RATING: 8/10

ARMORED BLASTER VALDIOS
Fire

Evolution Creature/Human/4/6000

- Evolution - Put on one of your Humans.
- Each of your other Humans in the battle zone gets +1000 power.
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
S4/S5 (Super Rare)

Analysis

---------

This card is a very specialized card. If you're running a Human Deck, this thing can certainly

help you out. Swarm out some Humans and they get a 1000 power-up. But is a Burning Power

for all Humans really worth an Evolution? It seems the mana and deck space used for Armored

Blaster Valdios could be used for something slightly better.....Besides that, Humans arent really

a very desirable Race.

RATING: 5/10

*********************

FIGHTER DUEL FANG
Nature

Evolution Creature/Beastfolk/3/8000
- Evolution - Put on one of your Beast Folk.
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, put the top 2 cards of your deck into your

mana zone.
- Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
S5/S5 (Super Rare)

Analysis

---------

This is one of my favorite Evolutions for a couple of reasons. For one thing, he only costs THREE

mana and we get 8000 Power, which is a lot. (Of course!) Since Bronze Arm Tribe and Silver Axe,

two good mana providers, are both Beastfolk, you could Evolve them into this guy, get even MORE

mana, and have an 8000-Power creature to wreak havoc with. It's an overall great deal, whichever

way you look at it. If I were you, I'd run this. Mana = Good in Duel Masters, and Fighter Duel Fang

gives you 2 mana for free. Heck, Pangea's Song this guy off and you get FIVE extra mana in one turn.

Of course, that would be reaaaaally stupid.....But it's an idea!!

RATING: 8/10

*****************

DIAMOND CUTTER
Light

Spell/5
- This turn, ignore any effects that would prevent your creatures from attacking your opponent.

(for example, ignore summoning sickness and card effects that say "This creature can't attack" or

"This creature can't attack players." Your creatures can't attack creatures this way.)
1/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

--------

Although this card gets around Summoning Sickness and can stop some irritating effects, I'm just

not sure that it's worth 5 mana. Sure, it helps Blockers that cant attack be able to attack, (Gran Gure,

Space Guardian, anyone?) but it's still pretty expensive. Then again, so are most of the good Spells,

like Holy Awe or Terror Pit. I wish it was cheaper, but it's still a decent card. Lots of people are saying

it's one of the best Spells in the game, but I'm not one of them.

RATING: 6/10

****************************

ETHEL, STAR SEA ELEMENTAL
Light

Creature/Angel Command/6/5500
- This Creature can't be Blocked.
2/55 (Very Rare)

Analysis

--------

I Introduce to you the King Depthcon of Light, except without Double Breaker and with 500 less

Power.

Still, he's pretty darn solid. There's nothing much to say except that you should probably play him.

RATING: 7/10

*********************

FONCH, THE ORACLE
Light

Creature/Lightbringer/4/2000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may choose one of your opponent's creatures

in the battle zone and tap it.
3/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Tapping an opposing Creature is an effective method to get past it or to kill it, but Fonch is just too

impractical.

Just stick with Solar Ray for half the amount of mana.

RATING: 3/10

********************************

LAGUNA, LIGHTNING ENFORCER
Light

Creature/Berserker/5/2500
- Whenever this creature attacks, search your deck. You may take a spell from your deck,

show that spell to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your deck.
4/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

I think it's safe to say that this card outdates Rayla, Truth Enforcer, although Logic Cube (6/55) is

better than either of them. The fact that it has a 2-to-1 ratio of Mana-for-Power isn't very encouraging,

and the fact that digging through your Deck for Spells is dependent on how many times he attacks is

also not very encouraging.

Although Laguna can be better than Rayla, Logic Cube is better than either of them, so just use that.

RATING: 5/10

*******************************

LARBA GEER, THE IMMACULATE
Light

Evolution Creature/Guardian/3/5000
- Evolution - Put on one of your Guardians.
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, tap all of your opponent's creatures in the battle zone

that have "blocker."
5/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Although tapping all Blockers may seem good, it's not. It would be a good metagame card if you ran

up against Blocker decks frequently, but then there's Holy Awe and Moonlight Flash that can get the

job done better, if you ask me. Call me crazy, but I dont like this card. The fact that it's an Evolution

Creature also hurts it.

RATING: 5/10

************

LOGIC CUBE

Light

Spell/3

- Shield Trigger (When this card is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it immediately

 for no cost.)
- Search your deck. You may take a spell from your deck, show that spell to your opponent,

and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your deck.
6/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

This little bundle of joy is what I like to call the Spell version of Rayla. Half the mana, and it has Shield Trigger.

What's not to like? It's not as good as Dimension Gate or Crystal Memory, but still, it has several uses.

Really need a Holy Awe? Logic Cube it. It's situations like that that Logic Cube comes in handy in.

RATING: 6/10

******************************

MAGRIS, VIZIER OF MAGNETISM
Light

Creature/Initiate/4/3000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may draw a card.
7/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

Ta-da! The Aqua Hulcus for Light! 'Cept it costs 1 mana more, but hey! Card advantage is card

advantage, and Magris gives it to you. Although card-drawing isn't as valuable as it was when

Base Set came out, it's still an essential part of any deck. Magris isn't as good as Aqua Hulcus

simply because it's in a different Civilization, but Magris is still a solid card.

RATING: 6/10

*****************************

PHAL EAGA, DAWN GUARDIAN
Light

Creature/Guardian/5/4000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may return a spell from your graveyard

to your hand.
8/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

The nice thing about this card is that it recycles Spells. The not-so-nice thing about this card is that

it costs 5 mana to get out. Overall it's too slow of a card, IMO, to be put to too much use.

RATING: 4/10

***********************************

RESO PACOS, CLEAR SKY GUARDIAN
Creature / Guardian / Light / 3 / 3000 / 1
9/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Bleah. It's so vanilla, it's so boring.....I'll give it a 2 just because it's better than Aqua Vehicle, but

there's no excuse for Creatures with no effects in this Set.

RATING: 2/10

**************

SPIRAL GRASS
Light

Creature/Starlight Tree/5/2500
- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
- Whenever this creature blocks, untap it after it battles.
10/55 (Rare)

Analysis

--------

Well, well. It's Ruby Grass, except for not nearly as good. Not only does it cost a ridiculous

amount for it's effect, it's been proven that the "untap it after it battles" thing isn't as good as it's

made out to be. Thumbs down on this guy.

RATING: 3/10

******************

WYN, THE ORACLE
Light

Creature/Lightbringer/2/1500
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may look at one of your opponent's shields. Then, put it

back where it was.
11/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Agh! It's Recon Operation-in-a-Creature!! Consider my feelings about Recon Operation (19/55)

and you'll understand why that's a bad thing. Seeing Shields isn't that good of a power. It's almost

useless, actually. You're going to have to Break the Shield eventually, who cares what they are?

True, it is useful to hold off Breaking one with Shield Trigger for as long as possible, but I just dont

see the point.

RATING: 2/10

****************

AQUA BOUNCER
Water

Creature/Liquid People/6/1000
- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may choose a creature in the battle zone

and return it to its owners' hand.
12/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

The thing about this card, is that it's MUCH too expensive. 6 mana? All you get is a Blocker

(a very WEAK one, at that) and a Spiral Gate effect, which you could just get by using the

Spell for 1/3 the mana. It's one of the worst cards of all time, IMO, and it's sickening that it's a Rare.

One might argue that you can use it in Blue Bounce, but please....Not for 6 mana.

RATING: 2/10

****************

AQUA SHOOTER
Water

Creature/Liquid People/4/2000
- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
13/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

This card is pretty mediocre, possibly even BELOW mediocre.....Sure, it's a Blocker who can attack.

So what? So is Seamine, and I think we all can agree that that card's pretty much crap. Just stick with

Marine Flower and the other cheaper Blockers.

RATING: 5/10

*******

CORILE
Water

Creature/Cyber Lord/5/2000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, choose one of your opponent's creatures in the

battle zone and put it on top of his deck.
14/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Well, it's a Cyber Lord that you can combo with Illusionary Merfolk......

Er, anyway, this card is REALLY annoying. -_- It's pretty expensive but oddly enough, the most

frustrating thing in Duel Masters I've come up against is drawing the same card over and over again.

This is a really mean card, but it's usually killed really easy.....You could make a Corile deck and just

keep recycling him over and over to get his effect.......Nah.

RATING: 6/10

*****************

CRYSTAL LANCER
Water

Evolution Creature/Liquid People/6/8000
- Evolution - Place on top of 1 of your Liquid People.
- This Creature can't be blocked.
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)

15/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

I REALLY like this Creature.....Better than Crystal Paladin, anyway. 8000 is a LOT, tack that onto

something that cant be Blocked PLUS Double Breaker, and you have a VERY deadly Creature.

The only problem is that there aren't a whole lot of good Liquid People besides Aqua Hulcus.

But anyway, Aqua Lancer definitely is one of the best Creatures in Blue.....If not the best, now that

King Depthcon is becoming outdated.

RATING: 9/10

*********************

HYPERSQUID WALTER
Water

Creature/Cyber Lord/3/1000
- Whenever this Creature attacks, you may draw a card.
16/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

Well, it's another Cyber Lord. It's what Silver Axe is to Bronze-Arm Tribe as it is to Aqua Hulcus.

In short, Aqua Hulcus is better, but if you run a deck with Illusionary Merfolk, this might be worth

trying out.

RATING: 4/10

****************

KING NAUTILUS
Water

Creature/Leviathan/8/6000
- Liquid People can't be blocked.
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
17/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

I love this guy. Double Breaker, 6000, and all Liquid People cant be Blocked. Of course, the best

Liquid People out right now is Crystal Lancer, and that guy already cant be Blocked. And then

of course, King Nautilus is also VERY expensive....8 mana. Just run Crystal Lancer if you're

running a Deck full of Liquid People, and dont count on this guy very much.

RATING: 6/10

****************

PLASMA CHASER
Water

Creature/Gel Fish/6/4000
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may draw a number of cards equal to the number of creatures

your opponent has in the battle zone.
18/55 (Very Rare)

Analysis

---------

This card's playability depends on the Deck you're facing. If you're up against a Swarm Deck with

10 Creatures on the field at once, Plasma Chaser can draw 1/4 of your Deck. On the other hand,

most of the time you'll end up drawing only 2 or 3 cards per attack. That's certainly nothing to scoff at,

but for 6 mana it's not enough, IMO. Still, it looks really cool. :)

RATING: 6/10

*******************

RECON OPERATION
Water

Spell/2
- Look at up to 3 of your opponent's shields. Then put them back where they were.
19/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Egad!! What a horrible card. Seeing the opponent's Shields wont do you hardly any good whatsoever,

especially for 2 mana. If it cost 1, things might be a little different, but still, seeing Shields is a rather

useless advantage.

RATING: 2/10

*************

SCISSOR EYE
Water

Creature/Gel Fish/4/3000
20/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

Yuck. It's horrible. No effect, and it's not even cost-efficient. (That is, it's too expensive

for it's Power.)

RATING: 2/10

***************

STAINED GLASS
Water

Creature/Cyber Virus/3/1000
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may choose one of your opponent's fire or nature

creatures in the battle zone and return it to its owners' hand.
21/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

--------

This card is pretty dependent on what Deck you're facing, kinda like Plasma Chaser (18/55)

If you're going up against a Fire/Nature Deck, this card is priceless. On the other hand, it's useless

if you're not. Overall, it's a very undependable card, and it's too bad Duel Masters don't have Side

Decks like Yu-Gi-Oh! does, or this thing would be prime Side Deck material......

RATING: 3/10

*****************

THOUGHT PROBE
Water

Spell/4
- Shield Trigger (When this card is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it

immediately for no cost.)
- When you cast this spell, if your opponent has 3 or more creatures in the battle zone, draw 3 cards.
22/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Well, it has Shield Trigger. That gives it a point or two. Although, if your opponent has 3 Creatures out,

usually they are going to win in a matter of a couple of turns, so drawing 3 cards wont matter much.

It's an overall undependable card.

"Why is dependability so darn important?!" you might ask. Well, what you should consider whenever

putting a card into your Deck, you should ask yourself, "If I get into a tight situation, can I trust this

card to get me out of it?" The answer with Thought Probe is not good enough to give it too much thought.

RATING: 4/10

***************

AMBER PIERCER
Dark

Creature/Brain Jacker/4/2000
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may return a creature from your graveyard to your hand.
23/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

Finally, we get to the Dark cards. Goody! My least favorite Civilization.......Anyway, recycling monsters

really isn't as good in this game as it would be in others. Although, I can see a deadly combo with Amber

Piercer, I just dont know what it is yet. There HAS to be some ground-breaking, deadly combo to use abuse

his Effect with...........But until we figure it out, he's not that good.

RATING: 4/10

**************

CHAOS WORM
Dark

Evolution Creature/Parasite Worm/5/5000
- Evolution - Place on top of 1 of your Parasite Worms.
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may destroy one of your opponent's creatures.
24/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Well, it's better than Swamp Worm. Speaking of which, it would probably be a good idea to combo

Chaos Worm with Swamp Worm.....But that would take 12 mana, which could definitely be used

 for something better.

You should just use Ultracide Worm instead.

RATING: 5/10

****************

CRITICAL BLADE
Dark

Spell/2
- Shield Trigger (When this card is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it

immediately for no cost.)
- Destroy one of your opponent's creatures that has "blocker."
25/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Oh, man. This is what Black has been needing since Duel Masters came out........Something to

kill Blockers with. Sure, we had Death Smoke and Terror Pit, but Critical Blade has been necessary

for a while. Goodbye, Gran Gure. Goodbye, Ladia Bale. Goodbye, Marine Flower. Goodbye,

La Ura Giga. Heh, heh, heh.......Critical Blade takes them all out for only 2 mana!

It's an awesome card. Just run it, okay?

RATING: 8/10

*********************

DARK TITAN MAGINN
Dark

Creature/Demon Command/6/4000
- Whenever this creature attacks, your opponent discards a card at random from his hand.
26/55 (Very Rare)

Analysis

---------

Horrid Worm (30/55) is better: It's cheaper and it's easier to get. Although, if you have the room

for it, and if you need more Hand-D, Dark Titan Maginn isn't a bad choice.

RATING: 6/10

*********************

GENERAL DARK FIEND
Dark

Creature/Darklord/5/6000
- Whenever this creature attacks, choose one of your shields without looking and put it into your

graveyard. You can't use the "shield trigger"
ability of that shield.
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
27/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

Oh........my..........gosh.......It's just SO bad.....Sure, it costs only 5 mana.....Sure it has Double

Breaker and 6000, but whenever it attacks you kill off one of your own Shields!! That's the LAST

thing you want to do, is start cutting off your legs....Ugh, it's just so bad.....Worse than Gigaberos....

RATING: 2/10

************

GIGASTAND
Dark

Creature/Chimera/4/3000
- When this Creature would be put into your graveyard from the battle zone, you may return it to

your hand instead. If you do, discard a card from your hand.
28/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

The "Bad (Cards) In Black" trend continues....Gigastand is horrible. Why would you want to

recycle this thing? It's like Aqua Soldier or Aqua Knight except in Black. Just keep far, far

away from it....

RATING: 3/10

************************************

GRAY BALLOON, SHADOW OF GREED
Dark
Creature/Ghost/3/3000
- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
- This Creature can't attack players.
29/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Finally, Black has a Blocker that doesnt totally SUCK.......Anyway, this card is pretty mediocre.

3 for 3000 isn't bad, but it's not a good ratio, either. Ehh, I'll give it a 6 just because Blockers

arent too common in Black.

RATING: 6/10

***************

HORRID WORM
Dark

Creature/Parasite Worm/3/2000
- Whenever this creature attacks, your opponent discards a card at random from his hand.
30/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

This card is SWEET. I love the Hand-D effect. It's Ghost Touch whenever he attacks! Woohoo!

Plus, he isnt ridiculously expensive like Masked Horror, Shadow of Scorn from the Base Set.

RATING: 8/10

***********

LOST SOUL
Dark

Spell/7
- Your opponent discards all cards from his hand.
31/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Okay, here's the only problem with Lost Soul: It's too darn expensive. Sure, Terror Pit only costs

1 mana less, sure Holy Awe only costs 1 mana less, but still, I'm not too sure about this card.

Is a discarded hand really as good in Duel Masters as it is in other CCG's? In Yu-Gi-Oh! you

would have Yata-Garasu, so that's one thing. There's no Yata-Garasu in Duel Masters (yet).......

hmmm.....

Now that I've thought about it some, this seems like a very good card in a Black Hand-D deck.

^_~ Use it in combination with Ghost Touch and Horrid Worm and maybe even Dark Titan Maginn

and you can have total Card Advantage the entire way through, which is a VERY good thing.

RATING: 7/10

****************************

MARROW OOZE, THE TWISTER
Dark

Creature/Living Dead/1/1000
- Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop that attack.
Then the two creatures battle.)
- When this creature attacks a player, destroy it after the attack.
46/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

I present to you the Deadly Fighter Braid Claw of Black. 1 for 1000, it's very cheap.

And it has Blocker. Nice!! :) The only downside is it commits suicide after breaking a Shield.

Still, if you run 4, that's not too big a deal, and they're so cheap it almost doesnt matter.

RATING: 7/10

***************

POISON WORM
Dark

Creature/Parasite Worm/4/4000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, destroy one of your creatures that has power

3000 or less.
33/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

I really dont like this card. I'd go as far as to say that Swamp Worm is better. And that's saying

a LOT. A WHOLE lot. (Since Swamp Worm sucks, IMO) With so many Spells that kill stuff in Black,

(E.G. Terror Pit, Death Smoke, Critical Blade) This card's value goes down a lot.

RATING: 3/10

******************************

ARMORED CANNON BALBARO
Fire

Evolution Creature/Humanoid/3/3000+
- Evolution - Place on top of 1 of your Humanoids.
- While attacking, this creature gets +2000 power for each other Human in the battle zone.
34/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Okay, so for Human decks it gets a boost. It's like an upgraded Armored Walker Urherion...But

that's not really anything to celebrate.

Sure, it can get ridiculously powerful, but you cant exactly swarm with Humans because there arent

many cheap Humans to lay out except for Brawler Zyler. If ONLY Deadly Fighter Braid Claw was a

Human......Bottom line is, just play Armored Blaster Valdios instead......If even that.

RATING: 4/10

******************

BOLZARD DRAGON
Fire

Creature/Armored Dragon/6/5000
- Whenever this creature attacks, choose a card in your opponent's mana zone and put it into his

graveyard.
35/55 (Very Rare)

Analysis

--------

Hmmm, it's hard to say what I think........Wait, who am I kidding......

It seems that Red is trying to build a "We're good at destroying Mana!" reputation, which is kinda

hard to do when Mana Crisis is in Green.....Hmmm, although in a Mana-D deck you would probably

mix with Green anyway, right? Right. But anyway, if you throw Bolzard in a Deck with Bombersaur

and Engineer Kipo, and it might not be too hard to create a Mana-Destruction Deck.

RATING: 6/10

*************

BOMBERSAUR
Creature / Rock Beast / Fire / 5 / 5000 / 1

Analysis

---------

It's a more powerful Engineer Kipo. It hurts both players, so that lowers it's effectiveness some,

but if you're making a Mana-D deck combining Red with Green, you would probably have lots

of Mana available due to Green, so it's not that big of an obstacle unless you're PLAYING

against Green.

BURST SHOT
Fire

Spell/6
- Shield Trigger (When this card is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it

immediately for no cost.)
- Destroy all creatures that have power 2000 or less.
37/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Okay, so it can kill off a Swarm Deck. Okay, so it has Shield Trigger. I'll make this short...

Which would you choose, Crimson Hammer, or this? Yeah, that's what I thought.

RATING: 4/10

CAVALRY GENERAL CURATOPS
Fire

Creature/Dragonoid/3/2000
- This creature can attack untapped creatures.
38/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

--------

I thought this card was good at first, then I playtested it and found it that it wasn't. The thing is,

Gatling Skyterror is better. 2000 Power cant really kill anything that threatening, so Curatops

isn't as useful, in my view at least. Sure, it can kill Blockers that are untapped, but the Blockers

that are most popular are La Ura Giga and Marine Flower, both of which can kill Curatops.

RATING: 5/10

************************

DOGARN, THE MARAUDER
Fire

Creature/Armoroid/3/2000+
- While attacking, this creature gets +2000 power for each other tapped creature you have in the

battle zone.
39/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

Yeah, it can get big. Heck, get two Creatures out that are tapped and you have a 6000-Power

Creature for 3 mana. I like this card, but it's not a very reliable one. If your tapped Creatures are

killed off, it's easy for him to get run over.

RATING: 5/10

***************

ENGINEER KIPO
Fire

Creature/Machine Eater/2/2000
- When this creature is destroyed, each player chooses a card in his mana zone and puts it into

his graveyard.
40/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

I like this card better than Bombersaur because it's easier to control. With Bombersaur you destroy

4 mana, with this you just destroy 2. Bombersaur is much more dangerous, but Engineer Kipo is

more controlled, if that makes any sense whatsoever. In a Mana-D deck, you'll probably want

something along the lines of 3 or 4 of these little guys.

RATING: 7/10

GALSAUR
Fire

Creature/Rock Beast/5/4000+
- While you have no other creatures in the battle zone, this creature has "power attacker +4000"
and "double breaker." (A creature that has "power attacker +4000" and "double breaker" gets

+4000 power while attacking and breaks 2 shields.)
41/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Ah, yes, it's what we have been dreaming about ever since we saw Magma Geyser.....

Unfortunately, it only works when Galsaur is the only one in the Battle Zone. Needless to say,

it's a very unreliable card, but why not try it out anyway? Maybe just include ONE, as a just-in-case

card, I can definitely see it coming in handy.

RATING: 6/10

************************

METALWING SKYTERROR
Fire

Creature/Armored Wyvern/7/6000
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may destroy one of your opponent's creatures that has

"blocker." (Destroy the creature before your opponent can block with it.)
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
42/55 (Rare)

Analysis

--------

I REALLY like this card. I got one in a pack, I added it into my Deck, and it hasn't failed me ONCE.

Critical Blade in a Creature, tacked onto Double Breaker and not too shabby Power. Say goodbye,

Gran Gure. Say goodbye, Ladia Bale. Say goodbye, Seamine. Metalwing Skyterror kills them all

before they can do anything about it.

I love this card. I'm going to give it a SLIGHTLY biased Rating.......

RATING: 9/10

MINI TITAN GETT
Fire

Creature/Human/2/2000+

-This creature attacks each turn if able.
- Power attacker +1000 (While attacking, this creature gets +1000 power.)
43/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

Gack. It's a Human. Not a very good one, either. It's pretty bland, and pretty mediocre. I've never

liked Power Attacker monsters very much (except for Super Volcano Bazookadon and maybe

Roaring Great Horn) and this one is no exception.

RATING: 4/10

RUMBLE GATE
Fire

Spell/4
- Each of your creatures in the battle zone gets
+1000 power until the end of the turn.
-Each of your creatures in the battle zone that can attack creatures can attack untapped creatures

this turn.
44/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

To be blunt, so what? Burning Power is better, and it costs 3 less mana. The "we-get-to-attack-

untapped-creatures" shtick isn't worth 3 extra mana, IMO.

RATING: 3/10

BARKWHIP, THE SMASHER
Nature

Evolution Creature/Beastfolk/2/5000
- Evolution - Put on one of your Beast Folk.
- While this creature is tapped, each of your other Beast Folk in the battle zone gets +2000 power.

45/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

--------

This is probably the second-best Evolution. It's also the cheapest, which is what makes it so great.

In addition to Fighter Duel Fang, you should run Barkwhip the Smasher. He's just SO cheap, and

there are plenty of Beastfolk to Evolve him from.

RATING: 8/10

******

ELF-X
Nature

Creature/Treefolk/4/2000
- Your creatures each cost 1 less to summon. They can't cost less than 1.
46/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

Yay, 1 less to Summon. That means Aqua Vehicle now only costs 1 mana!!

But anyway, if you get multiple Elf-X on the field, you can Swarm pretty easily. Just think, if you

have 3 on the field, MOST Creatures become instantly almost-free. Just think of the possibilites.....

Still, it's more expensive and not as good as Essence Elf (47/55).

RATING: 6/10

************

ESSENCE ELF
Nature

Creature/Treefolk/2/1000
- Your spells each cost 1 less to cast. They can't cost less than 1.
47/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

Since Spells generally cost less than Creatures, Essence Elf is a better card than Elf-X.

(Plus, it's much cheaper)

Just think, if you have 3 Essence Elf on the field at the same time (yeah, right) Mana Crisis (50/55)

costs only ONE! So does Aura Blast (*puke*)! Man, just think of that.....

RATING: 7/10

FORTRESS SHELL
Nature

Creature/Colony Beetle/9/5000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, choose up to 2 cards in your opponent's

mana zone and put them into his graveyard.
18/55 (Rare)

Analysis

---------

It's too expensive. Just use Engineer and Bombersaur if you're creating a Mana-D deck.

RATING: 3/10

LEAPING TORNADO HORN
Nature

Creature/Horn Beast/3/2000+
- While attacking, this creature gets +1000 power for each other creature you have in the battle

zone.
49/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

This card's a bit of an unusual Power Attacker, but it's not good enough at this point.

Yes, Green can Swarm some stuff out, but he's still a 2000-Power weakling when he's being

attacked.

RATING: 5/10

*************

MANA CRISIS
Nature

Spell/4
- Shield Trigger (When this card is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it

immediately for no cost.)
- Choose a card in your opponent's mana zone, and put it into his graveyard.
50/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

Mana Crisis would normally be too expensive (4 mana to get rid of 1? Shyeah right!) But it has

Shield Trigger AND it's in Green, otherwise known as "The Kingdom Where Mana Cost Simply

Doesn't Matter." Elf-X could help out lowering the cost, but most of the time Green will have such

a plentiful amount of mana that a simple cost of 4 won't really matter much. In a Green/Red Mana

Deprivation deck, include 3-4 of these.

RATING: 7/10

****************

RAINBOW STONE
Nature

Spell/4
- Search your deck. You may take a card from your deck and put it into your mana zone.

Then shuffle your deck.
51/55 (Common)

Analysis

--------

Rainbow Stone is a little bit of an interesting card....4 mana is a little bit expensive, and I definitely

prefer Bronze-Arm Tribe to it, but it's better than Pangea's Song. If it had Shield Trigger it would

hold up much better.

RATING: 5/10

*********************

RUMBLING TERAHORN
Nature

Creature/Horn Beast/5/3000
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, search your deck. You may take a creature

from your deck, show that creature to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle

your deck.
52/55 (Rare)

Analysis

--------

Cool, it's a Dimension Gate within a Creature. But considering that Dimension Gate is JUST a

decent card, and that Rumbling Terahorn's effect wears off as soon as he's properly summoned

to the Battle Zone, AND that he costs 5 mana for 3000.....All of these factors contribute to

Rumbling Terahorn's mediocrity. It's not very good. Period. Exclamation Point.

RATING: 4/10

***********

SILVER AXE
Nature

Creature/Beastfolk/3/1000
- Whenever this creature attacks, you may put the top card of your deck into your mana zone.
53/55 (Common)

Analysis

---------

It's Bronze-Arm Tribe with an effect you can use multiple times, but it's dependent on how many

times you attack, which wont be very many times. Reason? 1000-Power Creatures are typically

killed off after one attack. If even that. They could get Death Smoke'd on the very first turn. Point

is, Bronze-Arm Tribe is better, but Silver Axe doesnt hurt one bit to include in a Deck.

RATING: 6/10

************

SILVER FIST
Nature

Creature/Beastfolk/4/3000+
- Power Attacker +2000 (While attacking, this creature gets +2000 power.)
54/55 (Uncommon)

Analysis

---------

*sigh* Another Power Attacker. Borrrrrrrring. Especially since he's not even a GOOD Power

Attacker. Yay, 5000 when he attacks. If you're going to use a Power Attacker, get one that

actually has a really high Power, like Roaring Great Horn.

RATING: 4/10

*************

XENO MANTIS
Nature

Creature/Giant Insect/7/6000
- This creature can't be blocked by any creature that has power of 5000 or less.
- Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 Shields.)
55/55 (Very Rare)

Analysis

---------

Voila. The set breaks off with a bang. It's sort of like the King Depthcon for Green, except it

cant get past Gran Gure. Still, not much to say except he's great. Play him, please.

RATING: 8/10

Well, there you have it. My thoughts on every single stinkin' card in the *EVO* Set. :) Hope you

learned something for it, and if you didnt, well you just must be the Master of All Things in Duel

Masters. -_-

Anyway, look for my next Article! I dont know what it's going to be about yet, but look for it!
